There was something about this shirt that just really jumped out at me and I had to buy it. Now that I have it, I think it's my new favorite.

I saw it and I realized that very often in life, we find ourselves without a clear path forward, confronting tasks that on first glance seem insurmountable.

When you face those situations, you have two choices. You can stay where are while you endlessly ponder the myriad of choices and possible courses of action in front of you. But at the end of the day, you still haven't moved.

Or you can say "gosh darn it", pack up your turtle, and seek your destiny. You may not know exactly where you're going, but at least you're making progress.

Sometimes, I am George.
Sometimes, I am the Turtle.
And sometimes I am the Seal, just happy to be along for the ride.

George is the turtle.

I like the story behind this shirt, but not the shirt itself so much.

Yeah, the backstory behind this shirt is fantastic. I just visited the galapagos islands this summer, and now i feel inclined to buy it.

Lonesome George isn't really lonesome
he's got friends( turtle,seal, and a bird)

and he's really in no hurry to find a wife
(he's travelling by turtle)

This shirt is one of my faves

Just to reiterate the story to everybody, for those interested:

The *turtle* is George, and he is a real turtle that lives in the Darwin Research Station at Porta Ayora in the Galapagos islands. He is actually the last turtle of his entire species, as all the other turtles on his island where wiped out by sailors who took them in as long term food supplies. As a result, many turtles where killed and a few islands where wiped clean completely.

Currently, researchers and breeders are trying to find ways to cross-breed George with other turtles to restart his species.

I guess the sea lion and bird (a booby?) as well as the cactus are some of the other animals that are local to the islands (All three which are super common)

So, there's the story if that interested anybody

Regardless of all that, the short is really damn fantastic, and is a hilarious take on the not so well known story of Lonesome George.

I wore this shirt last night to some shitty club in Novi, and the guy taking money made fun of it. At least, I think he did. Anyhow, I love it and no one can make me not do so. Ha!

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.

All about me
I live in Seattle. I work in the software industry, where I spend my time putting long sequences of 1's and 0's together in the right order. It's harder than it sounds.

I like music. I used to be really in to Phish, but then they broke up. Now I'm only in to recordings of Phish. And other bands, of course.

I am often scruffy-looking.
