This week, GTS sat down with Threadless' Controller - Bill Courtright. We talk about the downside of going to college in Indiana, motorcycles and the addictive nature of Reeses Puffs. On with the show...

GTS: Welcome back to another installment of Gettin' The Skinny. Today's guest is Bill, Threadless' Controller. What's up, Bill?

Bill: Not too much, just the typical grind

GTS: Could you please explain what you do @ Threadless?

Bill: Pretty much I handle all the accounting and finances of the company. Most people think all I do is pay the bills and pay the employees but there is alot more to accounting and finances than just that. There's tracking assets projections of the company making sure we are in complaince with various federal and state laws, theres alot.

GTS: Have you always been into accounting and finances?

Bill: Well originally went I went to college I went for pre-pharm. Going to college in indana was not good to tell people that you are going to school for prepharm cause what they hear is pre farm. But since college yes Ive been in the field of accounting and finance.

GTS: How did you land your job @ Threadless?

Bill: Well I actually knew Jeffrey for quite some time and he told me that they were looking for a controller. I slapped my resume together and sent it over to him. That was that.

GTS: Awesome. What do you enjoy the most about working there?

Bill: I like working with like minded people. I have more in common with the people that I work with now than I ever did since graduating college.

GTS: What do you do for fun when you're not @ work?

Bill: Well when its nice out I like to ride my motorcycle. Im part of a veterans group that does different things to help other veteran groups, that keeps me busy over the weekends. Other than that I enjoy just about anything and if Ive never done it, Im typically up for trying it.

GTS: You served in the military?

Bill: Yeah I was in the army reserves for 7 years

GTS: Awesome! I come from a military family so thanks for your service.

Bill: Thats great, most of my family was active in war time, I guess I was lucky, but being in my vet group I see alot of young kids that even though they came back in one piece they pretty much lost everything. Its actually makes me more proud of our military since Ive been out than when I was in cause of the sacrifice that Ive seen others make to allow freedom for others.

GTS: Amen to that. let's talk a little about your bike - what do you ride and how long have you been riding?

Bill: I been riding since 2001. I have a 2003 Honda Sabre, its a pretty sweet bike. If I was to ever get another one I would just go up to the Honda VTX 1300.

GTS: The Sabre looks like a beast of bike! Have you ever thought about getting a chimp and a sidecar?

Bill: I was looking at an old german WWII bike with the side car, but the limitations on the speed kinda turned me off.

GTS: Back to Threadless for a moment - what are some of your favorite prints (recent or otherwise)?

Bill: I like nuts probably the best. its simple yet awesome, some other good ones are bone idol, sad psycho, all conference squirrel, there are quite a few that I like video games is probably my favorite type tee.

GTS: Not a bad one in the bunch. i asked my fellow bloggers to write in with questions for you. ready to answer to the masses?

Bill: Sure.

GTS: davidfromdallas asked: What's the one movie that make you cry, no matter how many times you've seen it?

Bill: Umm dont remember crying in too many movies, ET was one though... "eliottt.... "

GTS: Man, same here with ET. Gets me to this very day. The legendary sonmi wants to know: do you have any pets?

Bill: Yeah, I have an awesome cat named Hailey.

GTS: Chipmnk asked: What's your favorite cereal?

Bill: Reeses Puffs, I swear they put a little bit of crack on 1 in 20 of them to make you eat the entire box.

GTS: aycacha wants to know: i heard a rumor that there is a $100 bet going around about some race you are doing at the end of march? is it true?

Bill: No the rumors are not true, acycha is a professional runner and I have no chance in beating her, unless someone is willing to trip her for me.

GTS: How long is the race?

Bill: 8k, 4.96 miles, I cant even run that far yet.

GTS: Daaaang, best of luck. Lastly, but not leastly, jess4002 asked: Do you have any pictures of the Tuskan Raider costume that Sean mentioned in the last Gettin' The Skinny? What is the costume up to now? Can it be featured in future product photos?

Bill: Unfortundately I dont have pics of the tuskan raider costume. The latex mask cracked and and stuck together so I threw it away recently. The graffi stick I broke on some people during that halloween. I have pics of my vash the stampede from years back though, the second costume I made myself.

GTS: Links or it didn't happen!

GTS: Right on. Well Bill, out time is up for today but I've got two more questions. First, which Threadless staffer should I interview next?

Bill: Our creative director, Sean.

GTS: Okay! Sean it is. lastly, please share any pearls of wisdom with the GTS readers.

Bill: Things change so dont worry about how messed up things are.
