You don't have to spend a lot of money to put together a great gift package. I received a package that included brochures about historical walking tours of the sender's hometown, and you can get those things for free. I thought they were great. And I learned something, too.

I'm anti price limits. I think as long as everyone puts in a bit of thought, then price shouldn't matter.

I find it hard to gauge how much to spend when there isn't a limit. I don't mind over spending. But I would feel rotten if I underspent.

i can't wait either! it's exciting thinking about who will be matched with whom.

and as far as a spending limit, what i think people are trying to convey is that it doesn't matter how little or how much you spend. if you'd like an idea of what people received last year, just do a search on these blogs for it. some people that loved their secret santa gifts blogged about what they got. maybe that'll give you a rough idea.

yeah i'll post up a list of participants. do you think that's a good idea? i just didn't want people's feelings to get hurt if users start naming the other users that they want to get AND/OR people to try to bribe me to match them with a certain person.

yeah I know.. and the hacker was someone who liked threadless too since my threadless account & GC were the only things stolen. Some scummy theiving blog lurker no doubt.

ugh.. who does that?! i mean, seriously? c'mon mannnnn get a liiiiife. do you think threadless has your gc info so they can figure out who the hacker is? like, if the hacker uses the gc, can threadless swoop down and nail them with a perma-ban from the site or something?
