Hi there,

What would you call a traditional breakfast?
What should it include?
What did you have for breakfast?

erm

today I had cold tortellini. but normally it's oatmeal or cereal and a cup of tea. If I'm feeling rich I might have orange juice or a grapefruit as well.

radiostaticstar

Home fries or cottage fries are a type of basic potato dish made by pan or skillet frying diced, chunked, wedged or sliced potatoes (sometimes unpeeled) that have been par-cooked by boiling, baking, steaming, or microwaving.

The frying is typically done in vegetable oil or butter. Other ingredients may be added. If chopped onions and bell peppers are added to diced potatoes it creates a dish referred to as Potatoes O'Brien. If sliced potatoes and sliced onions are sautéed together with seasonings it can create a dish referred to as Lyonnaise potatoes.

admittedly, i'm more of a hash browns kinda guy.

but i don't discriminate when it comes to fried starches...

My usual breakfast is yoghurt with a sprinkle of cereal stuff.

If someone said a traditional breakfast, I would picture a full English which would include: toast; bacon; sausage; egg (I prefer poached although fried is more traditional); mushrooms; possibly black pudding.

I prefer everything to be grilled rather than fried, but will accept either.

I usually have Greek yogurt, honey, & banana with a glass of OJ.

A BLT goes down well as a mid morning snack.

if I'm doing a breakfast other than black coffee or beer - it's full English, like Bramish says, although I add (Heinz) baked beans - I'm sure he just forgot those, and if I'm entertaining, I'll whip up some proper chips and fried tomatoes as well

Scrambled eggs on bagels with pancetta is a weekend ritual.

Sweet Jesus! You have chips with full English? Were you raised in a Little Chef?
Tonteau
   Tonteau on Mar 17 '10 at 11:32am
Chips on a full english is a bit of a no-no, IMHO. I've tried it, and I'm not really into it.

Also you hippy types who eat yoghurt for breakfast make me sick. Yoghurt is a pudding.

He sure did.

I agree with Tont. No chips on my brekkie please. And I don't like tomatoes.

If I'm hungry in the morning a yoghurt is not gonna cut it.

During the week I have about 5 mins to eat breakfast. Yogurt is technically the quickest to eat of all food stuffs.

I've always eaten cereal without milk cause I can't have milk & it tastes better that way anyway. but I was always sad about how you can't have rice krispies without milk. but then I started eating them anyway and it's not that bad. this was a stupid post.

Stu knows where it's at.

2x toast

2x fried egg

fried mushrooms

2x sausage

2x bacon

black pudding

cup of tea

I think I would sub in some beans and tomato though, and probably skip the black pudding....coffee instead of tea, and add orange juice.
