neither of these designs are very original. they are both using the same tropes. you could think of the two of them (with other similar designs) as defining a "subgenre" or "cliche".



a lot of the designs that are submitted (and printed!) are manifestations of one or another subgenre or cliche. cliche's come from the cultural context: it's not like one person is copying another, it's more that both are copying from the cultural cliche board.
