First sketch: Making Friends.

I got this idea for a shirt a short while ago: a girl knitting an anthropomorphic, magically alive creature who, in turn, is knitting her a scarf. Today I did a sketch:

I've got a pretty good idea of where I'm going to go from here; but what do you think, Threadless?

that looks sweet. your hair is ridiculous, i saw you on the main page and wanted to tell you how ridiculous your hair is but thought you were in active.

I don't think your hair is rediculous, I admire it. Anyway, more importantly, about the shirt: I think it's an incredibly creative, artistic future submission. It has a compassionate aspect as well, that I really like. You're a fantastic artists, just to tell you. Good luck with this.

That's a pretty nice...hair...WAIT I mean doodle....

Wait, what the hell are we talking about?...oh yeah, doodles...

The hands need a little refining, but I'm sure you'll get around to doing that.

I don't know if it's entirely necessary to show the legs of the character. I just say this because if I wore a shirt like this (and I would) I would like to see the image large on a tee shirt, so as to see more of the detail on the rabbit and the girl's face.

I really like the idea though. I look forward to seeing it as a submission.

heywow, i'm totally responding this a hundred years later, but i went to your flickr account and saw your paintings. they are very awesome, and i was super surprised to see that you go to a high school in Towson. :O that's where i would have gone had i not moved to howard co, ahhh!

i'm going to UMBC now, but i totally thought you were in college from your painting skill. your paintings and your photos kick so much ass. are you thinking of going to an art school?

also, what kind of camera do you use, out of curosity?

So after more than a year, I decided to revisit this concept.

With the new printing techniques available, I thought using photography for the texture of the knitting would be most effective.
