about Be Cool
Thanks to Threadless for printing this and thanks to everyone who voted and commented on the submission. I'm very grateful and I'm really pleased with how it came out on the tee. I'm also totally stoked about my first hoodsie! It's going to be a tight fit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a pic of the hoodie:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a departure from my usual stuff and I am really grateful that Threadless took a chance with it.

I also appreciate that some people will be nonplussed by by what they see as just a photo being printed on a white tee. But I can assure you that it was not just a whimsical point and click and submit scenario :)

Here's the test shots that I had to make to try different surfaces and lights as well as playing with the kerning...

Be Cool Test Shots

Also - the letter colours that you see in the final submission are not the original colours and the colour edit came with it's own issues with the shadows and reflected light. Anyway, I'm not saying this because I feel the need to justify this getting printed - I just thought I'd give a bit of insight into my process. Besides - even if there is a percieved 'lack of effort' - the concept is precisely about 'effortless cool'!

I just thought it would make a cool tee (and hoodie!) and I'm glad Threadless did too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tees/hoodies arrived and they look great. Thanks to Joe and Ross - I assume one or both of you guys would have worked the image into a printable file and adjusted the kerning so that it would look right on the hoodie. Thanks guys x

good question, since anything that's put on zip hoodies sells like hotcakes it seems very strange they wouldn't show a product photo of that. . . ?

Threadless uses the California Fleece from AA, correct? They should use the Flex Fleece, I think....

Congrats Aled, but you get an E for effort.
I can't really blame you though, you exploited a weakness the hoard has..I would have done the same thing.
To threadless, please stop printing photos. Or at least make the payout the same as typetees. Thanks.

Congrats Aled! Great design. So glad Threadless recognized that this would look awesome even though it wasn't your highest-score (by your standards at least). The zip-up hoody rocks!

Its funny how I can be gone for like 2 weeks.. then as soon as I come back and start commenting, there's my little sidekick shobattack with his dumb commentary. LoL son, if you want an autograph I would be happy to send you one. But only if you can stop your obsession.

*and, also, duracell, I am assuming that Aled set that type himself and then took the photo and worked it up to printable standards. Thats alot of work, not like he just snapped a picture of something on his desk and turned it into a shirt.

it doesn't even matter how much/how little work it was. the result is what matters.

They arrived and I'm really happy with the print. It looks like an 8 or more colour screen print with tiny halftones? Doesn't mention on the product page. Hmmm
