What can I say about this one eh? Eh? A collaboration with Mitch ‘Spacesick’ Ansara. I had this idea sketched out and the monster in my doodle was just a vague scribbly outline. I was pleased with the feedback I got for the concept, but I really wanted an awesome creature and I knew I was unable to do it justice myself. I figured it was an opportunity for my first artist collaboration and that’s what happened. There is a handful of superb character/creature illustrators on Threadless that could have done an awesome job but Mitch was my first call and I was delighted that he accepted.

It took him like 6 months to draw all of the characters but man was it worth it. Rather than just getting space to draw the characters I needed it was very much a collaboration and the poses / expressions of the accident monster are straight outta his brain. I actually lolled in my pants when I received the copy of the ‘Easter Island’ mishap. He failed at being subservient and completely overruled my decision on the creature and picked the one he liked the best and I’m really pleased he did.
