Will this work?

I get added to a family plan and I get a data plan for my phone only?

Yep, I did that with my Blackberry on Cingular.



It will work with any data capable phone on Cingular, and probably with all carriers.

With the 5MB data plan you can only transfer 5MB (like 5MB of websites, emails, pictures, etc) of data before getting charged high overage fees.



You can get a data only plan, but you have to talk to a rep for that and it can't be part of a family plan.
