(Updated) Pictures from China!

So I was in China last week on business and I bought you... yes all of you a present... CHICKEN FEET!

So why is there a lame picture of chicken feet from some other website and not a picture of me with chicken feet in my mouth? Cause US customs are a bunch of little whiners. So they took my vacuum sealed package and when I pulled out my camera to take a picture of my favorite souvenir being hijacked I almost got tackled by homeland security for using electronics in the screening area. SORRY!

You can bring home candy and chocolate but you can't bring back meat or vegetation or seeds or soil. I think they are scared of the bird flue.

I knew that I was missing out on more than a good picture. I bet chicken feet from China don't have the same voodoo powers as those from Jamaica anyway.

Where did you go in China? I was there this past November. I sampled some spicy pig ears while in Chengdu.

I started in Hong Kong, drove to Shenzhen, then flew to Shanghai. I had a petrafied duck egg (pretty much the most disgusting thing ever). How were the pig ears?

You can get chicken feet at a dim sum restaurant in China Town NYC. Not go to jail for it either ;)

I can't remember squeege. I just remember it was in China Town near an Arcade. And by arcade I mean a covered passageway not a video game place. There were a few Dim Sum places around where I was.

Oc the pig ears were surpisingly good. They were the best of the pieces parts that I kind of had to try to make good with my Chinese friends over there. I'm glad I was able to avoid those duck eggs. I hope to visit Shanghai next fall.

in olden days, they were preserved in horse urine.

you know, that also kind of looks like the film stuff that mayonaise turns into if you leave it around the outside of the jar and you don't clean it.

to tell you the truth.. I have NO IDEA what they preserve it in now... but I can be sure it isn't horse urine. I think it might be vinegar though.

I wikipedia'd century eggs. They dont' look too tasty. I would...OH MY GOD I WAS PLAYING CASTLEVANIA AND ONE OF THE FOODS YOU EAT IS "PRESERVED EGGS" oh my gosh!

Telling me that it is not made with urine doesn't make the taste that I tasted any less gross... but it helps just a little bit.

there's another type of preserved eggs but that one tastes alot better...

they are preserved Ducks Eggs and they are preserved in salt.. the yolks are tasty but so bad for you..

century egg and horse urine that is..

besides.. its one of the best things ive ever eaten.. i love century eggs. i love chicken feet.. you can eat these in probably almost any "real" chinese restaurant.. o.O; lol. i even just buy these from the super market .. and they are awesommeeee
