I am not one to judge the relevance of art,... is one thing considered art and something else not? Who's to say? Since becoming a contributing memeber of Threadless, I have had a few submissions declined prior to the 7 day voting period. I like the style I have settled into since having taken up the technical side of the art world, something I never thought I would embrace. It's been a good learning experience. I've done the art school thing; I'm at an age and level where I can take in, evaluate, and appreciate art for art's sake. This site provides an outlet for extra income assuming you are the flavor of the week. Back to my original tirade...it seems to be that a lot of submissions that do sneak in are not up to any type of design aesthetic...granted this may be a learning curve based on the person and the programs they are working in. I find the judges prejudging a little questionable at times, especially if that is the prime reason I am receiving why a piece of mine, or maybe someone else, did not make the cut. Maybe my style doesn't quite fit the forum here, which I guess is all fine and good. My intention was to make designs for people like me who like something a little more substantial then most. Don't get me wrong, I have seen some amazing pieces on Threadless, shirts I would love to have. I have given plenty of 5's and 5 buys, but it seem those shirts never make it. Perhaps Threadless is meant for a different bread of tshirt enthusiasts. I get the feeling though that I, like possibly some other designers, get the shaft having spents hours on end on a design whereas someone may have spewed forth a design in minutes, not giving any particular acknowledgment to the the design principles. Am I done with Threadless? Who knows. A few more design submissions will prove the bearer of those results. At the least, I owe Threadless a bit of gratitude for making me re-introduce myself to the computer and the graphics programs and the new, endless possibilities that come with it...

the majority of designs that get printed here are cutesy and funny because that is what the majority of people shopping from this website want, myself included. i guess your designs are getting good feedback because of that.

hehe. well i read it and unlike you, the majority of the voters want cute/cartoony designs, quite different from yours... and like you said, threadless is home to a different breed of t shirt enthusiasts than you might prefer, seeing as your designs are kinda... arty :)

It is a rather large bundle of thoughts, I know...but during a rant, grammer and paragraph structure take a backseat...

The initial reason is that it did not pass the panel of judges final approval...I didn't save the email, or i would get it word for word.

I really like several of your designs. I'd definitely wear "The Before" and "Interstellar".

Having said that, I'm not entirely surprised they haven't scored higher; I just don't think they're accesible to the majority of threadless users.

I think you could be a lot more succesful doing album artwork rather than t-shirts for threadless.

I really love your designs by the way. Please stay with threadless anyway, I allways vote the really good art shirts a 5 and even a buy if i really like them. I hate the cartoony ones mostly anyway. Its people like you who are why i buy shirts here

My designs

All about me
Art is my life. I live it, breath it, create it, etc...I'm still at the "starving artist" phase in my life. Threadless has given me the push to explore the tech side of the art world. I think a lot of my designs for threadless will be inspired by band tshirt designs...I think that band tshirt design, or tshirt design in general, is an overlooked medium. I think anyone who has that type of philosophy will appreciate those type of designs that I have created and accepted here at Threadless.
