Hey all. So my Mom has been feeling sick the last two or three months, and the doctors had been unable to figure out what was wrong. Finally did some cancer screening blood tests and it showed positive. They did surgery last Monday, and it turns out she has primary peritoneal cancer, which is cancer of the lining of your stomach. They were able to remove most of it, but not all as you can not take out the lining obviously. It is pretty advanced, stage III already , so we really don't know how she will do, she is 75, and the survival rates for this cancer are pretty poor because you can never remove all the cancer cells.

To make matters much, much worse, my brother Andrew died Thursday morning. He was only 51. He leaves behind 4 boys aged 10-23, 2 of whom will probably be living with me for the near future. He was in the midst of a divorce which was not yet finalized, so it is one big mess. No answers on what happened, he has been ill for the last few years, and no diagnosis ever was really made. Wake is today, and the funeral is tomorrow. Telling my Mom her son had died while she was in the ICU was one of the worst experiences of my life.

I am sorry to post another of these awful blogs. The last few years have been terrible for my family.
