They are my all time favorite, and I was wondering what everyone's favorite Pavement songs are? If you hate Pavement, rag on em, but do it politely, as you would rag on a design you don't like. I'm not telling you yet what my favorite song is (sorry for the poor grammar there), I want to see what other people have to say. If you want to talk about Stephen Malkmus or the Silver Jews, they are awesome and can be discussed as well. Also tell me your favorite Pavement album.

yeah, I can't think of anything off of there that I don't like, really. It's hard to pick a favorite.

I am quite fond of the album, Wowee Zowee, and I cannot wait for the reissue of that come November.

Dang guys, no love for Slanted and Enchanted? Come on, every song on that is great! Although admittadly I have every song off every CD 5 starred on my iTunes. My favorite song is off of the Watery Domestic EP, and it's called Frontwards. And my favorite solo deal from Stephen Malkmus is either Malediction or Post-Paint Boy. Honestly though, I've never heard the Silver Jews... I'll pick some up this weekend.

And I bet I've been told I look like Rupert Grint like 19 times. Although the quality of this picture is a little shoddy and inflates my nostrils. And was taken about 6 months ago.

It's pretty neat that you're 15 and Pavement is your favorite band. I hope you don't take that disparagingly!

I was too late for Pavemeny live... who all has seen them live (besides wullagaru)? I heard one of the earlier drummers handed out mashed potatoes. I still haven't seen the movie about them.

I'm ok with that. Older people ask me about that all the time at shows. Like this lady at Sonic Youth in August. Although she was heckling everybody.

Oh and does anyone like Daniel Johnston? I live in Austin and I'm trying to get a job at a comic book store because he shops there!

yeah, 15 and pavement is quite impressive.

hmm, my impressive early age listening would probably be the promise ring & built to spill at about 13.

We didn't have the internets when I was a youngin. And I lived in a very rural area, far from any venues, so I never got to see any shows.

What about the voice of Geddy Lee?
How did it get so high?
I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy!
(I know him, and he does!)
And you're my fact-checking cuz!

I'm not a Rush dude sorry. Nothing against them, but my Dad listens to horrible music and ruined them for me. I do love their drummer Neil Purt. Has anyone seen the Devil and Daniel Johnston? I haven't yet, but I Netflixed it!

I saw him live!!!! But it was kind of sad to watch because he had just taken his meds and was all sick and stuff. Have you heard his tribute album? Yip/Jump and Hi, How Are You are both in my heart!

Good night everyone, school is early for me. I'll listen to Brighten the Corners as I sleep, as I haven't played that in a long time.

I saw Pavement several times live. The funny thing about them is you could see them blatantly take shows off that were in less interesting cities or dinky locations. I saw them at bogarts in cincinatti and they rocked a small but loyal crowd, saw them played bored (twice) through lollapalooza and I think the other show was st louis or louisville and it was mixed.
On Slanted and Enchanted vs Crooked Rain - during the time they were still in existence it was common knowledge that S&E was for real fans and Crooked Rain was for the bandwagonners who only knew of Pavement via Cut Your Hair (which, hey, mass market single or not is still one of their best songs). This same phenomenon was in fashion for Smashing Pumpkins with Gish (true fans) and Siamese Dream.
Personally I always preferred CR to SE, also - it was poppier and cleaner - the songs seemed more intentionally successful but you're talking 1a and 1b. I always preferred Brighten the Corners to Wowee Zowee or Terror Twilight. Stereo and Shady Lane are just pure Pavement songs.
I miss the Lo-Fi movement, though, and will have the occasional tribute day of Sebadoh and Pavement songs.

Wowee Zowee is my favorite album of all time, although I pretty much love everything pavement/Malkmus. Preston School of Industry is quite awesome too. The closest I've come to seeing any pavement live was seeing Mark Ibold with Sonic youth this year, which was amazing.

My friends working on an arragement from 'rattled by the rush' to have tattooed on my lower back for my 18th birthday (its meant to be a surprise but someone thought it would be best to warn me, you know, seeing as I have a low pain threshold and they were planning on dragging me to the parlor blindfolded in my post-18th-birthday hungover state. I have some lovely friends.)

I saw them twice on the slanted and enchanted tour here in NZ, they were great.

Slanted is one of my fav albums, along with crooked rain and the album before slanted has got plenty of gems on it.
