OK, so I haven't posted a blog yet and I thought this was a good reason to. I've submitted 'Phillip' and 'Soldier 501' recently and there has been a mixed response to both. So here is an in depth explanation.

Both the designs were based on my original style, using words and pictures to give light to an unknown and often futuristic world. For the TLT comp. I thought my ideas would be ideal.

The designs play on ideas I have for numerous graphic novels, one of which is the idea of a constructed society based on manipulated behavior and thought processes. So (and this is going to take time), imagine the 'butterfly effect' on CD. What if you were able to desensitize over time an entire nation to acting in a very similar way, say by media propaganda, subliminal advertising, TV programming, marketing shills and so on. If at a point, people were inevitably suggestible, you could then easily and specifically manipulate every action to produce a desired re-action to suggest another until you came to one desired conclusion. That conclusion could result in a sale for your product or maybe a more sinister result.
Some would say this is already happening, some would play it off as conspiracy theory.
The reason for these ideas being on T-shirts is simply that we perceive clothing in a certain way – as fashion. Whether it be design labels, looks, colour, shape, size and other things. I wanted to take a different look on how we see clothes. Maybe they could be to tell stories, to pass messages, to induce feelings and thoughts.
