New Product Picture Rule?

Hmm, it seems, if you weren't logged on when you made a purchase, you need to provide the Order Number for the tshirt you are submitting a photo for :-/

That's new and odd. I understand threadless has to deal a lot with people taking multiple pictures for the same shirt, but we were never told or warned this would happen, so there's no way I can recall any of the order numbers.

In my last blog I posted pictures of a shirt I wanted to submit, but the shirt was given to me for birthday back in January (I hadn't had a good place to take pictures with it until now), so there's not much I can do.
Sorry for the complaining but ehh.

I know you can pull those order numbers from your account, but this one, along with some others, were gifts

Do you still have the packing slip (if it was shipped directly to you)? There's an order number written on there. I have a couple of shirts that were given to me as gifts and I kept the packing slips so I'm hoping since I have the order numbers, I can still submit pictures for them.

I ordered some on my old account, so i won't be getting stps for those :(. Although, I might re-activate it, just for the order numbers.

Hmm, I just read in your other blog that they asked for a zip code along with the order number. I wonder if that's the orderer's zip code or the receiver's?

What is the issue here that they need to do this? People buying used shirts and wanting points or swapping with friends or reusing pics or something?
This just seems like a hassle and a lot of extra verification for a small amount of credits.

kihou, people slightly alter other user's pictures and then submit them as their own, so they get tons of stps that they didn't earn.

This is a move in the right dirrection but the way that it's set up at the moment is fucking bollocks.
Threadless should at least tell people that this is going to be happening with a fair warning.

Ah, I never knew that was an issue. I guess my only complaint is I have a couple shirts that were gifts and I wouldn't feel right asking the person to look up their transaction numbers for me. I also have a couple used ones off ebay/rethreaded that I wouldn't mind getting points for, but I guess that's what I get =3

We had to throw that order verification feature in there due to some recent people scamming the system. We're working on a way to allow people who received them as gifts to still submit photos so stay tuned. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I can see the potential now, and even though they get screened it would be impossible to remember every photo. It just delays me further from putting up my pics since I will have to look up order numbers and stuff. But I guess in the future I will take the pics right away when I have the order info.

I think I'll worry about this when I actually have the pictures taken which may be a long time anyways =p
