Personally, I find my body hair to be annoying. What about you guys? What man issues/situations do you love/hate?

since my bike is down, i had to take the bus home from work today, listening to music and not paying attention to anything.

as we were stopping at one of the bus stops, a girl in the back started screaming. i looked back and saw her pointing out the window, and i followed her stare. out in an unfenced cul-de-sac were 3 guys. two of them standing, one of them was on the ground bloody. the taller of the two men had a baseball bat and was about ready to smash it into his head again, when they realized a whole busload of people were looking at them. as the bus driver radioed in the 911 call the other man, who hadn't been doing anything, took a pistol out of his pocket and shot the guy in the head. at this point the whole bus was in shock and glued to the morbid scene. the two men got into a car and sped off.

when i came home i was visibly shaken. i told her what i had just seen. then my mom got scared, she said "you're moving with your auntie and uncle in bel-air." i whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said "fresh" and it had dice in the mirror. if anything i could say that this cab was rare but I thought "nah, forget it, yo homes, to bel-air!" i pulled up to the house about seven or eight and I yelled to the cabby, "yo homes, smell ya later!" i looked at my kingdom, i was finally there, to sit on my throne as the prince of bel-air.

... into this blog just to prove a point about our vanity.

dan, can you offer a succinct explanation for the eames lounge thing?

ok. in the generic "hi, i'm new" blogs many people, including myself, would just give an equally generic "hi and welcome." at roughly the same time, i became obsessed with this cat:



I began writing "hi and welcome" and posting my cat underneath. a few weeks and about 4 dozen or so of these blogs later speedyjoe posted a picture that he came across on fffffound of a pug in an eames chair:



xiv edited the picture and put my cat in the picture:



i would then use that picture as the picture that i posted along with "hi and welcome." eventually i added mew mew underneath. after some time i just took a screen shot of the post (including text) and used that so i didn't have to type the same things over and over again:



THEN! people began photoshopping things onto the chair as a joke. this happened every once in a while for a month and then the blog took off.

fun was had.

I'm hoping to get a tattoo soon and it shall be of the state of great state of Illinois. I've been considering getting a, straight up, outline of Illinois, but recently I thought it could be sweet to have a stylized version of the shape. I want me some banging typography.

It'll probably go under my arm under my bicep (one of the least hairy parts of my body).



I mean... I could easily go down to the tattoo shop and ask them to diddle something up, but I respect so many of the artists here and would love to have a piece of your art on my body. So, you wanna give it a shot?

Ideally, I'd love to keep it one color: black (shading is cool, too), but if it's a bomb design then I could go for some color, too. Typography is OK, too!

At the very least I could compensate the tattooed design with 50 bonez (read: $50 - keep in mind: I'm not rich and I will still have to pay for the ink). Also, please please please do not be offended if I don't like your design... it is, after all, going to be on my body forever.
