Who could be the next *spoil* since Heath Ledger died?

The actor died, but not the character, so, who could possible play the joker in the next movie?

Here is my pick:

I think the jokers will play as "hannibal" in the silence of the lambs, being used just to talk to batman to show him how a insane mind plays.

I don't think two face is dead, i hope they bring him in and his third personality

Also, the love interest died, which means they need to bring in a new one- cue cat woman

but nolan is saying he wasnts to focus on characters that haven't been in the movies yet. So my guess is clayface

I think he calls it the Judge- its someone who kills only villians, not innocent people too... so he goes after batman because he's a vigilante, and they go above the law. And!!! Best of all, The Judge tries to kill two-face, really freakin weird but cool

i think if he wasn't meant to come back they wouldn't have put in the line "we are destined to do this forever" they were still editing the movie, it could have easily been taken out

I don't know Batman but I'm going to see it at the weekend. People like me do exist! And don't deserve to have the film spoiled for them! Also don't use the 'anyone who cared would have seen it by now' excuse, it only came out today in the UK.

i just saw batman last nite.. it was RIDICULOUS!.. best batman/superhero movie ever.. heath ledger played the best joker ever and i dont think they're stupid enuff to try and replace him.. i think jokers gone

I'm not sure I agree with all this "You can't replace Heath" mentality.

I admit, he blew me away with his Joker but if they want to make this an ongoing franchise they simply can NOT ignore the Joker just so Heath's memory lives on.

I remember how many people whined when Ledger was cast and the arguement was "You can't replace Nicholson", but they did and most of the Nicholson lovers made the jump.

Then again, killing the Joker just out of respect for Ledger is just as silly as killing the Joker in the first Batman. He is to intergral to Batman to lose.

Johnny Depp is probably the most versatile actor in Hollywood.

When an actor can play Edward Scissorhands, the depraved Earl of Rochester, Captain Jack Sparrow, Donnie Brasco, Hunter Thompson, Ed Wood, Willy Wonka, JM Barrie, George Jung, and Ichabod Crane all with exceptional uniqueness and skill, I'd say he's pretty fucking versatile.

That being said, I'd sooner see Depp as a Riddler than a Joker.
