I have designed and redesigned several times and yet agian my design was declined.

I am happy to note that some actual reasons were given this time around, although I find it hard to believe some designs are thrown out due to 'poor design' or actual 'copyright infringement'.

I guess we all have our own opinions.
I do have a little issue on some of the points about my design though. And so I have decided to rant. (Obviously time will tell if my 'rant' is a good idea or not..)

- Improperly sized thumbnails and designs (Mmm, kay... I spent hours getting it to EXACT pixel demension specs. What part is the wrong size? The actual design size on t-shirt, I could see...)
- The design has too many colors (Possibly. I tried to keep it down. I better recheck it.)
- The design has a gradient or halftones. (Really? Where?)
- Submission did not use the templates. (Oh, yes did! See that little t-shirt in the corner? That's from y'all's template! Is there something more to the whole template thing I'm not getting?)
- Inappropriate material within the design. (What, pray tell, is innapropriate about a fish and some non-offensive text?)
- The design is too large to print (Ok, I can see that.)
- The design contains copyrighted material (Does it? Where??? That's my own design! What about my design was copyrighted? )

Seriously, for some of these I would love answers to. I really would love to have one of my submissions in and somehow I am doing something wrong. Please, educate me.

-What is copyrighted in my original design?
-How else should a template be used?
-Why is my design too large to print and yet I see other designs using the whole t-shirt space?
-And what in my design is 'innapropriate material'? o.O

I could probably fix the color and size issues pretty easily, but I am concerned about those 'copyright' and 'innapropriate materal' issues. I can't exactly fix something I don't know what is wrong with.

Guess first step is to check and see if I actually sent in the right files.... :P

it's nearly impossible to get down to four clean colors with photoshop. the complaints about halftones (which is their word for tiny bits of colors) and the number of colors might be coming from there.

i bet they had the size thing right. they're pretty good at counting size.

as for the inappropriate, copyrighted issues. i'm guessing the inappropriate part would be what the fish is saying and/or what's happening to it. and i'm guessing the copyrighted part would be that your fish bears a striking resemblance to some other fish (which might not be a problem except for the thing being done to the poor thing).

or, threadless could be completely mad.

hard to tell without us being able to see the pictures.

Perhaps they are saying that those are possible reasons why; not all of them apply to your design, most likely. Post the design here so we can tell you what we think the problem is.

What the hell are you typing about? If we can't SEE it, we can't give our opinions.

All about me

Basicly, art is my life. I've loved art from the moment I picked up crayons and doodled my family's faces with arms and legs sticking out of them.

So far, school has ruined me. Ever the student, I am currently going for an associate degree in animation. Every movie I see I look critically at the effects and animation. If I like it enough, I am one of those annoying poeple who sit in the theatre until -all- of the credits are run. Gotta get a head start on figuring out who I want to end up working for! ;)

Before learning animation, I was studying graphic design. After seeing how much harder animation is to create... sometimes I wish I stuck with graphic design. You think coming up with a good layout or grpahic is hard? Try making that sucker move and not look crappy...
