Pantone or not!

hi, i'ld like to know how to find pantone codes about one of my picture. I've illustrator CS2 and when i select my used colors i don't know what is it pantone code. Someone can help me about that topic? Thanks

You need to actually pick pantone colors. Go to your swatches >window>swatch libraries then pick the pantone swatches you'll want to use. I usually use solid uncoated, but it's different for every job and since I've never submitted here, I might not be the one to ask about that.

You then pick your specific color from the palette to match the ones you already picked. The code will come up in your color palette. I also have pantone swatch books which helps...

another way to check (which isn't entirely accurate) is to open the file in Photoshop then use the eye dropper to select the colour. Then double click the foreground colour in the Tools Palette and then (in the Colour Picker Window) click "Color Libraries"...

that'll jump to the closest Pantone colour.
