about The Madness of Mission 6
I almost didn't buy this shirt. What a mistake that would have been. When I order from Threadless I always want to order waaay more than I can afford, so I have to make cuts when I check out. I'd initially chosen this shirt because it reminded me of my Uncle's old sci-fi and horror comics from the seventies I'd read while visiting my grandparents, but I wasn't sure that would translate over into a wearable shirt. Well, it is. It's just gorgeous in person, with its enormous graphic. I find myself wearing it at least once a week. And, after wearing this shirt for six months and having countless people ask me what it was from or what the story is, only now do I check out the original submission page to see if there is a story. And I find out that had I been less of an idiot and actually looked at the bloody shirt I would have realized that the yellow spaceman is Pac Man himself! I'm so blind, and this shirt is now four times as cool. I feel dumb. But at least I have something to say when people ask me what the shirt means. :) P.S. Dear Threadless, please hoodify this shirt for me so I can wear it in the cold Canadian winter without having to cover it up with a jacket. And then reprint it so I can buy two more to wear when my original wears out. Love, Chillie.
Dear skinnyCorp,
I just read my latest Threadless email which featured Naked & Angry. I had never been to the site before, but as soon as I saw wallpaper I was over thee moon. I've been renovating my new house and wanted to do something really funky in my bedroom, a bold wallpaper on one wall and a complimentary colour for the other walls. I've been looking locally for wallpaper, but it seems that it's either not even being carried anymore or is all the same boring crap. Looking online for wallpaper is an exercise in frustration, either you get desktop wallpaper or you have to scroll through even more boring crap to find anything half decent looking, and then how do you even know that it's going to be a quality product? After browsing Naked & Angry for a while, I'm even more thrilled. Designing for this competition would be so much fun for someone like me who has an artistic side without having any drawing skills to speak of. And the best part is that the product options are nearly endless. Now, none of the wallpapers that were printed has jumped off the screen and said, "Put me on your wall!" like some of the Threadless shirts have (well, the shirts said, "Wear me!"), but I'm going to have another look. I think one of the designs might go with the kitchen paint I bought last week. I really hope that more designs are made into wallpaper, because if I don't end up buying any of the currently printed papers I'll probably leave my bedroom its horrid shade of pink until the right one comes along. So, thank you skinnyCorp. You guys rock.
I apologize, but if your design included birds I probably gave it a low rating. That is, unless it was funny. I don't seem to mind those as much. Actually, I'm buying Nice Boobies right now, if I can track down my credit card.
For the record, I can't stand birds. I was at my new house painting yesterday, and we looked out the window to see a good dozen robins walking around my yard. It was the creepiest thing, all those little slimy, vermin infested things bobbing around. Euugh. I'm excited to finally be buying some Threadless shirts for myself. I had been looking for some cool t-shirts to buy for a buddy for his birthday and stumbled here. He's wearing his small sized Skunk2 out to the bar when I drop him off, it's nice and tight on his big muscles. |

I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
