I think that would help keep the feisty teenagers who submit over a hundred slogans from overdoing it. Maybe a limit of a handful a day, or something like that. Honestly, since the slogans were added, people have submitted some awful things that often didn't use correct spelling or even make sense. That whole slogan idea is flooded with such things, and a limit might help. Or not. Just an idea.

Feisty teenagers are just one example of market flooders. Don't worry, you'll get older and suddenly your opinions and efforts will be more valid. (At least that's the buzz on the street)

I don't know...

Sometimes the 54th slogan of the day that you submit might be brilliant. Such as when I submitted "My moustache smells like tarter sauce." Yes....I smell a winner. Or maybe it's just the tarter sauce I'm smelling.

I totally agree with you.

i have noticed that it takes a scarily small amount of effort to submit slogans - perhaps a rate limit would be a good thing

I don't think this is the real problem at hand. The significant issue is a general overflow of creativity. What we have here is a stressed level of mental activity that is absolutely unnaceptable. In order to rectify the situation I propose that we find and destroy all creative actions or thoughts.

Also, lets not make this about economics, because that's just obnoxious. Teenagers will submit slogans as long as the cost of the best alternative not taken is low.

or perhaps threadless should report these 'over submitters' to the authorites and they shall be forced to have a brain implant that eliminates 9 out of 10 thoughts - that should slow them down!!!

I think glloeb may be overreacting a little bit

What if the brain implant eliminates the uncreative thoughts.. then we have a problem.

Stealing catch-phrases does not take creativity, especially when there's a possible reward for it.

Oh wait....I just remembered, these are god damn shirt slogans. Who cares if there are 12 million submitted a day? I actually like the extremely stupid ones better than the ones where people try to be all intellectual and clever.

For threadless it is a cheap way to get, perhaps, excellent and original, slogans...

Well since there's a limited number of characters for each slogan there's already a limit. Imposing a limit based on frequency just increases the amount of time we'll have to wait for all possible slogans to be used. Wouldn't you rather just get it over with?

Can you imagine having to read those 12 million though? I'd be sick of it very quickly.

Yes, a limit should definetly be put on.

I don't really think there's even an issue.

Issue? I thought this was a hypothetical situation for people to think about and comment on.

I was under the impression that you believed "the feisty teenagers who submit over a hundred slogans...a day" were more than hypothetical. It is certainly my conviction that they are a menace to the South Central (and threadless).

You've got me right. Now I can go submit a slogan that says "Everybody should be locked up until they're 20."

the simple solution is to kill everyone that submits more than 5 bad slogans.

I think there is an issue with it as well...I am guilty of being in a very odd silly mood and just putting weird stuff that no one else would think is funny...but there is that chance. But its the brainless crap that drives me nuts and is not even remotely funny, or witty or anything.

btw...come cute slogans!
