As a garden geek, I have loved the Happy Harvest design since it first came out, but let's face it...that is one HUGE print to wear on a t-shirt.

So, as I did with my Paper Tiger and Chinese Peaches shirts, I ordered Happy Harvest in Guys' 2XL so I could promptly cut it up and make it into something more attractive and unique.

Check it out:

The upper and lower bodice were made using McCall's pattern M5380 and the skirt was cut from New Look pattern NL6375.

Oh, that is so cool! I wish I was talented. I tried to make a T-shirt into a dress once, and I just failed miserable. Probably because I can't sew worth crap.

Sadly, I forgot to take a pic before I cut up the shirt, so now I can't score any STPs for it. I was denied on my Chinese Peaches shirt - to - skirt refashion pic, too.

Oh wow, I totally thought you looked so familiar and your username seemed familiar too. So I looked at your site and I totally remembered a while back I had done a search for "Cardio Coach" on Google and was led to your site for a free download of #6 :D
I ended up buying #1-5 after that! :D By the way, you look GREAT!!

You are VERY talented! I loooove how you changed the t-shirt like this! Now I'm going to go through the sold out shirts I wanted to see if I can get a big size men's and change up a bit :D

Thanks! I wish Threadless would credit STPs for pics of refashioned shirts, but so far, no dice. You'd think that seeing photos of the creative things people have done with the unpopular 2XL shirts would help them clear out their overstock.

As an update on whether or not Threadless accepts pics of shirts refashioned into other stuff....The answer is apparently "not anymore."

I ran across this *accepted* photo of member LadyKat in a refashioned mini-dress made from Insomnia last night, so I took a chance and submitted an appropriately-resized pic of me in the Happy Harvest sundress to see if they would take it. Technically speaking, it followed all of the picture submission rules - full length shot with shirt design AND my face in view, 380x272 pixels, JPG, etc.

This morning I got the generic email saying the photo was declined.

Your submission may have been declined if 3/4 of the design was not visible, there was nobody wearing the tee shirt, your face wasn't 3/4 visible(above the eyes down), the photo is not right side up, the photo is reversed(a mirror shot), a filter was used, or of a really low quality.

Since my submitted pic wasn't guilty of any of those things, I can only assume that they only allow pics of the boring old T-shaped shirts nowadays regardless of what they might have done in the past.

Sigh...I guess I'll have to take pics of myself wearing huge 2XL tents for STPs now before I start snipping and sewing away.

Wow, that dress is truly amazing!! I wish I had the talent to do something that complicated and classy!

It might be because my dress (actually, nightie) is more recognizable as being made from a tee. Or sometimes certain photos don't get noticed in the screening process and make their way through, even if they shouldn't.

I do think it's a shame there isn't a place where people can submit photos of refashioned tees around here (for points) - after all, it could help sell more t-shirts!!
