He has a lot of good ideas, and seems like a very focused and reasonable man. He said something to the effect of "social channge happens through education" in that Google interview which I entirely agree with. But, while I would love to see all of his proposed changes happen as a social experiment, I just don't think that a lot of his concepts will work in the real world. I like to believe in people, but I don't know if I can trust them that much. Granted, there is a certain romanticism in the idea that we would all live the strength of our will and sweat of our brow, I just feel it would descend into Lord of the Flies on an epic scale.
I also like his "let's get shit sorted here before we stomp around the world" attitude. Of course he'd rather we use diplomacy than "stomp" but you get what I'm saying.
i think i'll be decided who i'll vote for when you know... it actually matters. like, when each party names their candidate. odd to think i'll be eligible to feel guilty for not voting next time.
well, ron paul appeals to a lot of young folk, and the older crowd, who are said to be america's future. there are too many neo conservative elderly [and in general] who rely too much on their religious beliefs, what's best for their generation only and the rich, and who think the young folk owe them something. with enough of us supporting truth, liberty, individual and private rights, etc, we can get a start on "changing" america. this can't be doen without Ron Paul. America needs him.
How much of what you're posting about Ron Paul is stuff you honestly believe, and how much of it is just stuff that your boyfriend has said that you're regurgitating?
I'm not saying it to be mean. I'm just honestly curious.
This whole idea of leaving everything to the market other than the common defense seems like a fairytale to me. I can't imagine people jumping at the opportunity to shoulder the burden of healthcare. Especially considering that healthcare would be entirely unregulated. That is some scary stuff right there.
He's so incredibly wrong, the mans policies are solely populist policies and lack any kind of practicality they are design to appeal to the mass market and have no basis in reality.
honestly i have been interested in Ron Paul for months now. James and I found out about him together. We are actually going to be designing a website and such in support for Ron Paul.
todiefor- of course i've seen the blog and it was a great debate to read.
James has been a supporter or Ron Paul since his beginnings and it wasn't until he became really noticed a few months ago that I started to actually look into his issues. Personally, I hate politicians and the government. With Ron Paul- I'd vote for him.
