looks great, but i'd never pay $40 for a t-shirt.
i understand that this process may be more expensive, but over all i don't like how threadless is jacking up prices. just reminds me of those money hungry futbol owners in the EPL

Please see the 500 similar blogs. That are about the same thing.

But I would buy it. I don't think they are "jacking up" prices I think they are adjusting to the cost of production.

you do realize taht as far as clothing goes threadless has been ridiculously underpriced for a long time, right?

one shirt being $40 does not = jacking up prices

$5 or less increase on the majority of all the other shirts does not = jacking up prices

I like how you started your own blog just so more people could read this:

just reminds me of those money hungry futbol owners in the EPL

You should post it in EVERY blog.

$40 for a shirt, especially of this quality and uniqeness, is nothing. Think of all those shirts (like Ben Sherman brand, or all those surfie ones) that charge $100 plus - and they'res mass produced with only a brand name on it. This shirt is hand-dyed, and so therefore requires more effort and more cost to produce.

I'd have thought it was obvious why this shirt would cost more... but then again, you are only 18 yo, and maybe have little experience of the world and the ways in which its economic functions work...

But, don't buy it - it just means that someone who appreciates the effort that goes into design and printing will get it, instead of one who takes the cheap prices that Threadless already offers for granted.

Right, I really don't understand the logic of starting a blog about how you're NOT going to buy a shirt. Just don't buy it. Do you realize that there's a designer behind this who put in a lot of effort and thought as well as the people at Threadless who have worked to make this a finished product that is unique, beautiful, interesting and $40. I live in NYC. People buy a pair of shoes for $900 which don't have half the integrity and individualism of this shirt. There aren't many of these and they should go to good homes. You think it's over-priced, you're entitled to your opinion. Don't buy it.

As for the general "jacking up the prices" complaint we've all heard uhm, just a few times - Selects were a flat $25 before. Now sometimes they're $18. Threadless didn't have to do that - their pricing system reflects the efforts and costs of production. Amazingly enough, this makes sense.

I disagree with your distaste for threadless' sale of more expensive merchandise, so I'm going to slam you as an individual. Obviously that is what older, more mature people do to make a point. I'd have thought it was obvious that your opinion isn't valid unless you're 32.

IAmUnimaginative, who's slamming? I see nothing that's worthy of the word.

This is the only possible attack, if there was serious hidden haturrrz behind the words. Seems pretty neutral to me.

$40 is basic price for a shirt. For a hand-dippd shirt, with sparkles? it's damn cheap.

So you're saying that isn't condescending and meant to offend?

I disagree with a lot of the folks here about this. I think that I've always thought of threadless as a place where, with stp and sales and the like, an impulse buy was always a possibility if I saw something I had to have. The shipping has gotten more expensive and now with the shirts I like costing probably more than 18 it's a bigger consideration and I'm not buying shirts anymore. 15 dollars shipped is doable, 25 dollars shipped is getting to bee too much, 35 dollars and I'm not going to buy it unless I accidentally set all my other shirts on fire.

I think to disagree with my opinion is fine but to say that people shouldn't post it is ridiculous. You don't know anything about my financial situation or anything so don't you dare tell me what is acceptable to spend and what isn't. The fact that there are more expensive items in a more expensive marketing bracket seems to me, irrelevant as I am clearly not going to be buying those shirts either.

Why would they go out of their way to offend people who disagree with the pricing of this shirt? It's not like they designed it, I see no reason for them to be so vicious.
