Oh, no, this isn't meant as a collective type thing (I almost typed "borg-thing," but then I'd be identifying myself as a Star Trek nerd). It's meant to convey the thought that we all have hopes, desires, fears, and loves, and that makes us all more the same than different.
It's a Jungian concept more than anything-- the collective unconscious.
And the reason for three... well, I'm very old school, I guess, and I perscribe to the whole "there's magic in numbers school." Three is a magic number. So is seven, 12 40, etc.
It feels kinda washed out to me. I'd want something more stiking. Though at the same time it feels like it could be good for the threadless loves threadless comp. While it's not amazing or something I'd wear, I think there is something in the style that could start a new 'trend'. Maybe think of a way to get parts to 'pop' out more. I'm not really sure. Not that my work is any better, just my constructive thoughts.
No, I totally understand what you're saying. I'm going to let this version be the low-key color design, and I'm going to make another one that pops more. A brighter blue for the background, and gold.
maybe that new trend thing I'm feeling is the combo of washed out pastel colors and the blank expressions.
That maybe it. Now if you could put just a little more content or meaning in there. I mean 'we are all connected' is a great theme, it's just that it's sorta cliche. I think with a bit of new cleverness (clever is my favorite word lately) or insight you'd be rockin'. Possibly through changing the words in each head to be stonger terms and playing off eachother. Such as 'sexual dysfunction' in one head and 'repressed childhood ' in another. Just my need for pressing thing further maybe
I think if I'd start putting these Freudian sort of phrases that you're suggesting then it defeats the purpose of the design-- I guess it might not be necessarily "deep," but I feel that people should try to understand the fact that we all are more the same than different. Maybe I don't feel it's cliche simply because people still don't seem to get it.
