not so keen on the rendering of the drawing, it looks really rough, but not in a hand drawn way, more bad photoshop resolution way

but, in saying that, the idea is OK, good colours.

Why use the line quality that you have?

sweet. A 5, depending on size on shirt. I don't know if a full shirt size print would look as good as a smaller one. Or perhaps even separate the top from the bottom by a few inches...? I dunno.

Yeah, I'm generally not a fan of the full shirt size print anyway, and I think it would just look cheezy.

you could use a brown shirt as the base colour...

or a dark green

etc...

and check out a colour wheele for compatable colours...

and there is something positive sometimes about colours that clash.

Funk, you already know you're my hero. Despite that, I'm blown away at some of the lukewarm responses here - everything about this design is outstanding: the composition, the rough strokes (montmont's response is incredibly subjective), the characters and use of color (yeah, it reads as candle light)... Tim Burton would be all over this - and so would I.

so you know when you said you liked the red on burgundy/scarlet rather than the red on orange (for ninjelephant)...i made that the display for the submission instead of orange...

my initial thinking was "dynamic colours! SHOCK THE EYES INTO LOOKING!" and although the red and orange do work...it was TOO bright and i took into consideration what you suggested with the colours from ninjelephant #2...

sometimes if i have super colour troubles (and if i don't have design savvy folks to bounce things offa) i do consult the colour wheele...it can be very helpful.

as for the design as it is, i still think my prior suggestions still apply (for me and my eyes anyway)...

i'm not the one to please though.

also, i gotta say...you're a swell person so far. you're kind and respectful an d that's really very becoming.

It's the midwest in me. Sometimes I'm too nice. The best criticism is given with a smile and a wink.

Besides, I've read some really awful comments given by people... it just makes my skin crawl. I can't be mean, even if I'm almost entirely faceless.

And I'm glad you chose the burgundy/red. It was a very pleasing combo.

Man... I've been trying it out with other colors, but they're lookin' "a not so gouda," as I like to say. On dark green may look the best, but the denim still looks better. Or maybe it's just my eyes. Do I have glaucoma?

I agree with montmont's comments - the idea is very nice and the execution and colours as well, I just don't really like the distressed or vague line edges. For the rest this is very submittable!
