I'm seeing her on December 1st! I can't wait to funk to her Missy Elliot from another hemispehere style! also, was the opening act The Cool Kids? If so, how were they? If not, who esle was there? If so, why do i ask so many questions?
The Cool Kids were pretty awesome, only thing that sucked was we had to wait like an hour for MIA to come on after them.....and there was nothing to setup. Her whole show is badass, they have this video setup behind her that just rocks, your gonna dance your ass off. I was soaked by the end of the show.
My friend who saw LCD Soundsystem/Arcade Fire in New York said that LCD was amazing but that Arcade Fire sucked bigtime. I have seen them live and they were incredible when i saw them, so i think he's just being over-critical. Unless they forgot how to play their instruments2 in the middle of the performance or something.
`The best thing i've ever seen live was the Roots and Beck both at the sasme venue (The Tower in Philly)....the Roots for playing for 3 and a half hours staright and furiously, and for Beck makign the creative concert experience ever with little puppets being boradcast behind the band doing exactly everything they were doing on stage.
FA- Your friend must be crazy. Arcade Fire is a blast live. I also really love the stage presence of Win and Regine. They're so playful with each other, it's adorable.
shutyourface- Bjork was so sweet! I saw her back in September. She had this crazy looking synthesizer (I assume that's what it was) on stage that made all sorts of shapes through electric current or something. I can't really explain it, but it was sweet.
I haven't heard that syunthesizer yet, but i read a whole article on that machine where you place various oibjects in different places and it makes noises that are never the same no matter how close you are to hitting the same place. Bjork heard about it and flew out to the inventor's workshop and bought one. There are only a few in the world...THIS is why she's on the cutting edge and im so jealous you actually got to hear it live!
