I was pretty happy with this, until I realized how bland it looks on an actual shirt. So I tried to add some background cues and outlines to kinda spiff it up (below). But it also detracts from the subtlety of just having the window silhouettes tell the story. Thoughts?

For my sub, I made a custom swatch pattern for some of my fills. But when I export to SWF, the patterns show up as wierd orange fills.

What gives?

So I blogged yesterday asking for color advice on this and people were like "earth tones, sandy colors, fuck yeah!!"

So I tried it, but it always ended up cartoony and kitsch-like, so I'm experimenting with just one color now.. but am still open to multicolor schemes if you guys have any ideas!

I'm also thinking of just bright orange on black, kind of a halloween flavor..

This is a sub I'm doing for Fast Food Nation.. All the main elements are done here, I'm going to add some hieroglyphs in the white space.



Question is, should I go for a full 5-color scheme, or just do B/W with crosshatching and shading (as I've done with the cattle)?

I'm also having trouble finding a good shirt color.
