Hello 2008. Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and celebrated accordingly. My girlfriend and I made it to Melbourne in the end and had a wicked time. Cheers to those who parted with some local advice.

Figured I'd get more suggestions, on a different matter however. Just recently done a few sketches... two of them being the following...

i _ _ _ _ you

_ _ _ _ me

Was wondering what you folk think of them in terms of being applied to a t-shirt. Does it tickle your fancy? Or perhaps it's not really Threadless's style? Let me know your thoughts.

i _ _ _ _ you (t-shirt)

(update! subbed it for the hell of it.)

i _ _ _ _ you - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

_ _ _ _ me (t-shirt)

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

Cheers.

like them both but i'd only really wear the first one on a shirt.....but you knew that anyway

The second one will bomb here I reckon. I like them as ideas and drawings, but not sure they'd make good shirts. Would be cool as postcards though.

I adore the second sketch, but I agree with Bramish, I reckon it'll bomb here.

Totally sub the first one, though. There's an element of potential ambiguity that's cool about it.

yeah, figured as such. it's funny you should say that bramish... got plenty of interest to sell them as prints / cards.

lol @ tesco... hate, kill, slay... this could keep me amused for hours on end. ;-)

yeah, you're probably right. it's pity how a bare breast could cause such controversy on here...

I'd say it's okay. I mean, there has been nude people in old t-shirts and also one or two in the "retired" section of Threadless. Hey, they sold out so I wouldn't think less of your 2nd design because it has BOOBS. Seriously though, in this community of Threadless-ians, people are really picky on what they think would be appropriate for all audiences, but I want you to go for it!! :D

who cares if it bombs? we all know it's good. scores are more meaningless now more than ever

These are great-I'd definitely sub them. You could always try another site if you don't think they're particularly threadlessy

Agree with tesco!

yeah, not really fussed about scores. just want to get a feel for whether it would be worthwhile subbing here or saving it for another option.

perhaps i'll give the first a run with the threadless-ians and see how that goes. :-)

cheers for all the responses.

I reckon take them somewhere else. They're definitley printable.

Or you could use them as your rev sub?
tesco
   tesco on Jan 11 '08 at 6:05am
I think they should scrap the scores and just go by the comments. Either that or have a compulsory IQ test before you can vote

i've been thinking up something quite psychedelic for the rev comp... whether or not i'll get my ass into gear and do it in time will be another question...

i'm not sure if it's taboo about talking about other t-shirt company's (pardon me if it is!) but i've been dealing with graniph tees with a few of my designs... whether or not they'd take these is still up for question. if i'm honest, i'm just testing the grounds at the moment, as i'm a little strapped for cash at the moment! haha.

try DBH?
francobolli
   francobolli on Jan 11 '08 at 6:47am
not sure, tesco. my guess would be that if they don't produce the t-shirts themselves, they would probably be american apparel.

i've taken the plunge and subbed the first piece. let's see how it goes...

I just scored the first one! Funny the f word came to my head in that one. I hadn't seen the second one until now, but the f word definitely comes to mind with that!

They loook great as a series. I'd love to see the second one submitted. It will probably bomb here, just because of the boobs. Maybe remove the text in that one though. I think it makes it more obscene, not because it is obscene but because if you give people the oppurtunity to fill in the blanks, they will gravitate towards making it obscene themselves and then blame you. And then people on the street will blame the wearer for wearing it.

I think sometimes we underestimate people though.

Cheers John.

I understand what you are saying, but that is kind of the root of the concept there... it really displays the quality / state of one's mind, albeit to themselves.

I love art that actively involves the viewer. Well done and I hope it makes it to print. I immediately thought "love" for both, but want, need, hate, fuck, miss, kill, and any number of other words fit just as well.

Now get to work on a Revolution sub.

id hang these on my walls as posters

right next to eachother, they are amazing

but doubt the 2nd one would do well here, very prudish sometimes on threadless

Trying to get to working on that Rev sub, Mr Domino. Just bogged down with other work at the mo, unfortunately!

A series of posters / cards are in the works, Brandon. I'll keep you updated.

Andreas, we'll be back for sure. Sooner than later hopefully! Catch up then? :-)

hmm, things are alright. kind of stressing at the moment because of school, but tomorrow is my last day until i get into a program somewhere!

you?
francobolli
   francobolli on Jan 23 '08 at 1:08am
yes, i too can sympathise with stress and all the other words in the thesaurus that match "stress".

good luck with finding a program. do you have any choice or is it a bit of a lucky draw?
ir0cko
   ir0cko on Jan 23 '08 at 1:16am
i think i'll be satisfied with any nursing program, but i'm shooting for a State nursing program. :)
francobolli
   francobolli on Jan 23 '08 at 1:21am
coolio. i hope you get it then!

you know nurses are snatched up in no time around here. so if you're not satisfied there, just make the swim over and you'll be set.
