The emo awards.

about Bleeding Heart

people, i realise that it's neither big nor clever to make fun of emos. Actually it's really low, and such, this blog should be seen as celebration of all things pink and black. So, in honour of bleeding heart being reprinted, which quite possibly is the most emo item known to exist, i present the emo awards.

if we have already crowned bleeding heart the most emo shirt (you may disagree with this), all that remains to do is to move on to other forms of media/entertainment/stuff. Bands is too easy, but i thought up some other categories, feel free to add your own, or whatever.

animal: crow
chocolate; the dark chocolate ones that have strawberry squidgy stuff in.

god, the stuff that seems fun to do when you're putting off learning about DNA transcription.

¬_¬ since when did emo's get to have all the pink and black stuff, f*ckin moany self harmin fools!!!! I love pink and black they are quality colors to mix and i dont like even one thing emo!!!!!! Death to stupid emo nonsense!!!!!

Uhm, see im not even sure myself,

But in the papers a while back (The Sun) there was like a middle page article pure centrespread that was like, totally creatin like undue parental paranoia......

It was like sayin,

'Parents Beware, dont worry if your kids a goth, the new danger is Emo'

It had a list of stuff like to look out for but basically it came down to the fact that they think all emos are like, gonna just kill themsleves

Was pretty funny, musta been a slow news week.

Oh well, i guess since i smoke, Im an emo

Killin myself over a long (and frankly quite relaxing) period of time

Catcher in the Rye is totally emo. The peak part of its emo achievement comes when Holden talks about how he wants to save all of the innocent, unjaded children from learning about the real world. He likens it to them falling into reality therefore he wants to be the "catcher in the rye." Plus, I've seen lots of emo kids with a worn out copy of this book in their back pocket.

i liked it, teens cant really relate to most of it. other then the fact that everything SUCKS. and everyone is a phony. ehhh.
it was really well written however.

MY FRIEND'S COMMENT: this whole concept is getting tiresome. People are people. No one can seem to define emo black and white in the first place and now people don't see the difference between a guy who cuts himself from a guy in tight pants and black clothes that listens to music about lovers laments. I have people i know that many classify as emo, but they aren't depressed and gothic, but they still get bad rap for it. Plus, if someone is really, full-on seriously emo, it really helps their depression to hate on them. No wonder they went from cutting to suicide.

i loved catcher in the rye.

however, my best friend and i have had entire long and kind of hysterical conversations about the emo-est things.

day: thursday
month: february
weather: fog

the list goes on. we weren't really thinking about stereotyping people while we were doing it. more like stereotyping concepts.

it's really a lot of fun.

Fog for weather? Really? I'd have thought rain was more appropriate, but it'd have to be under these conditions: No raincoat or jacket, and your shoes are just wet enough that water squelches up into your socks every time you take a step.

HAHA! Those commercials crack me up. I especially like how Mr. PC has to go listen to some emo, and he turns areound and has an Anarchy patch on his jacket...which is the total opposite of what emo stands for.

and for those who don't know what emo is...

emo started as a type of music. many of my friends think emo is hardcore/heavy metal music when it really isn't. for the most part it's depressing, and usually (but not always) slow and acoustic. probably 80% of the people considered emo are not. it can't be based on the way someone looks. if they don't cut themselves/attemp suicide, they are no emo. it would help to listen to the music too. they can wear the pink and black, skinny jeans, ect. and not be emo.

Im against stereotypes, but even more against people who try to be stereotypes cos its 'cool'

Everyone should be there own person, instead of tryin to follow senseless fads.

Its the same with bands, you see a band sayin...oh well our influences are (x) and thats cool, i love to hear music that has been influenced by past greats, and theres a lot of good stuff.

But then you hear so many bands that are carbon copies of each other, churning out the same 'sellable' music becasue thats what companies want.... even indie is gettin pure commercialised these days, its gettin to a point where if the band dont look/sound exactly how the labels 'target audience' want, they dont get the deal, its like people are afraid to make something original....

Bring back the era of Zappa and Beefheart ^_^

I realise after typin that this has ended up off topic a little, however, im drunk and angry at the music business hehehe

i f-ing hate being called emo at school, i listen to indie and daft punk is my favourite band as well as modest mouse, belle and sebastian, deerhoof, etc. and i straighten my hair, but only cause i look like a gaytard with wavy hair, and kids just stereotype me.
