I have been emailing several companies my resume and portfolio .. but I have only heard from few of them.

I am wondering is it better to just email your resume with Portfolio to companies or should I start calling people up?

I want to get my own website.. that I don't have to design but just upload stuff and add text.

Can anyone tell me which site is the best and the cheapest?
I have seen Homestead has a design gallery and it costs $4.99/month.
