Wether or not you need to wear something under a white shirt depends on the thickness of it. You don't need anything under a white sweatshirt.

I like the neckline a lot but I would prefer if it wasn't sheer I guess...it's not really work appropriate, and sadly that is where I spend most of my time.

I've seen these at AA before...basically they're thinner, softer versions of regular shirts, with a pretty snug (but not really tight) fit. They're not really that see-through usually, but since this is creme, they'll probably be a little more see-through than a creme normal tee.
