New iMacs

One thing I hate about Apple is their very sudden and inconsistent release patterns on new products. So I come home from school and open firefox to yahoo.com. There in bold letters reads: "Apple unveils new aluminum iMac." I was like "WTF".

I just got my hard-to-keep-clean white iMac a few months ago and now they bust out with a sexier, sleeker, metal iMac. I'm salty.

Curse you Apple. Yet I love you so. The suspense keeps me alive.

ahhhh I still have yet to get my hands on one of those demos at the Apple Store. The new keyboard looks pretty sweet too.

I read a review of it today. Meh. It's really not all that different from the white imacs. Except it has a shittier keyboard.

i'm a sucker for sleeker apple products. hopefully this new imac is just an intro to a new 12" apple laptop i heard rumors about.

I just bought a white iMac a couple of days ago...

I didn't like the keyboard for the metal one. It didn't type well for me.

the new keyboard reminded me of the macbook's keyboard. i have been hearing some negative things about the new keyboard. oh well, can't win them all can they?

i have the old 12" ibook and would love to see it upgraded to the newer intel duo cores and what not. if i was 50+ years old, of course i would get a bigger screen but i still have my youth left in me. plus i want something small and compact. a few others out there will agree with me that it is time Apple released a updated 12" laptop. the old 12" powerooks are still selling strong on ebay which is one hint right there.

you want a 12" laptop so that you can have a TINY laptop

it depends on what you need a laptop for...

for some things (travel... just taking a laptop w/ me to Starbucks just in case i need to VPN into the servers )

a small small small 2lbs ish laptop is PERFECT

I mean i wouldn't want to edit photos on a 12" or 10" laptop but ya know.

i need a laptop cos i need to take it to work wit me. so i just got the biggest screen i could cos designing sucks on small screens... especially in quark.
that sucks shirt!
i had a 24" cinema display but then my dad decided that his business partner needed it more than me!!! WTF! ah well, he bought it for me lol.

i use my 12" ibook for school. i don't want to lug around a huge 17" laptop in my bag. also i don't want some weird person in the back of my seat in lecture looking at my screen and seeing everything i type. kinda creepy.

i got my G5 a month before the Intel Core Duo's came out. i actually like the G5 processor better, and not having to run everything through slow-ass emulators. but i still felt like a chump.

Yeah... I'm running CS2 on an intel mac... even with a ton of memory it's pretty slow... i wish i had the $ to get the intel friendly CS3

if you have a MBP, keep an eye on it... I think it's pretty widespread... mine was fine... then I was out of town for 5 days, leaving my computer at home... came back home and my computer wouldn't stay on or even sit flat on my desk.

I couldn't think of any good reason to take my compy with my to my Grandma's funeral....

plus I didn't want to leave my wife computerless.

but yeah... normally I take it with me if I travel.

when I get my macbook, I'm getting the 13.3-inch one, which is close to the 12-inch anyway (so why would they do the 12-inch one?) ... Sure I'll use it for quick design stuff but the bulk of the work will be on my mac mini with the big monitor.

you can always hook up an additional monitor for extra real estate... have your 13 inch + another monitor... works well for me.

I'm planning on getting the 24" one. There's been talk of a new imac coming out for some time now... a lot of people thought it was going to be in the fall, but I guess it came out sooner.
