i was out and about today--running errands and stuff. when i was done, i thought i'd go hang out at the mall cuz i was bored and had time to kill. while eating a soft serve from McDee's, a guy wearing a bow tie caught my eye. "well, doesn't that look interesting," i thought to myself. wonder if i can pull that look off and from that moment, i decided i'd like to try that.

apparently not every department store sells bow ties. i went to like 5 different stores until i found one. the salesperson asked a lot of questions (can't a guy just buy a bow tie for no reason??). i lied and told him it was for a wedding to get him off my back. then i made this big elaborate story--best friend's wedding on the beach; groom met the bribe at a mutual friend's housewarming party; honeymoon in paris; blah blah blah.

anyways, i've never tied a bow tie before. youtube taught me how in like 2 minutes.

here's the end result. i think i'm gonna start the bow tie trend.

Gonna Start My Own Line Of Popcorn Now

THE END.

Also I got my buttons and made you a blog, but you never saw it.

If you make bowties cool and then I have to start wearing bowties because all the cool kids are doing it, I am going to hunt you down and strangle you with your bowtie.

I wear bow ties occasionally for no reason. I have even played softball in a tie on a couple of occasions.

I lost one of my bow ties in the mountains :(

I assume you you could get them from any tux store, like Mens Wearhouse. Michaels (strange, I know.) used to sell them. That's were I bought my first one that I eventually lost in the mountains... trying to look sexy for the wildlife. Unfortunately they don't sell them anymore.

ps -- i spent about 15 minutes trying to tie one in a Macy's once. the clerk asked numerous times if he could help, but i insisted "NO! I'LL GET IT OR I'LL BE DAMNED!"

i ended up giving up

Clip-on ones are the best.

We should totally go thrift store shopping for ugly (sexy) 70's bow ties. I think the next Comicon meet-up should have a mandatory bow tie night.

Uh uh, my dad started that trend. He's been wearing bow ties (and only bow ties, he thinks regular ties look silly and are a phallic symbol) since before I was born. I don't know where he gets them, though.
pilihp
   pilihp on Sep 29 '08 at 8:59pm
andy! ugly bow ties are the best. clip ons don't work when you're wearing a tshirt. and YES to mandatory bow tie/karaoke night!
