warning, this is a random useless blog.

i went out to dinner tonight with my family and AGAIN people thought i was a high school student. i'm 30, i'm old, but i still get carded and asked either when i'm graduating from high school or which college i'm attending. i guess i should be flattered, but it's still awkward.

the end.

here's something for those who feel like they got gypped coming in here expecting something interesting.

You're a nut

Most of my relatives still think I'm in middle school.

And it's not that flattering.

I never get tired of people thinking I am young. I had someone guess my age as 26 last month, that made my day.

almost every time I'm buying wine/beer (here you have to be 16 to buy it) the cashiers want to see my id...
I'm 26!
It's not flattering, just weird.

It is hard to guess the age of a lot of azn people. That's science.

edean on Jun 23 '08 at 10:01pm
depending on what i'm wearing, how long my hair is, how much facial hair i have, etc. people can think i'm 17-27...

i've had people look at my id and say "that's not you"
i really think they should've taken a profile pic instead of a straight on because i haven't met anyone with the same chin as me...it's like jay leno's chin but skinnier

awww... I know a lot of people to whom that happens :/ 3o is a little more extreme... at least it'll pay off in like ten years I guess? My sister is 25, and during her last internship in college (doing fashion design at Ralph Lauren), she found out that the people she worked with thought she was like... 19 (and she was 24 or 25). That really sucks if you want to be taken seriously :/

glad I'm not the only one. I tried growing facial hair, but being Asian kinda makes it impossible.

also, man, for the first time EVER I have been having people tell me I look younger than 18. Mostly it's just crazy old people telling me I don't look old enough to ring up their alcohol at my cashier job at a grocery store, but still. Weird. I must not be wearing enough whore makeup.

We have shows like 90210 to blame. Old people see that and naturally think that someone in their late 20's and 30's are in high school.

blossompossum on Jun 23 '08 at 10:29pm
Most people where I live seem to be pretty intent on thinking that I'm in my early twenties, whereas I'm still in high school. I guess that's not a huge age gap, but still, it's oddly amusing.

I'm 24 and often people think I'm just starting college. I've had people walk into college freshman classes I'm teaching and be like "wheres the teacher?" It really bothers me, not so much in general, but I worry people dont take me seriously in my professional life because of it.
MCS4096

and it's weird because people totally thought I was older than I was when I was in high school. Except my grandma, who still doesn't really know my age.
