I wish I knew this years ago. We all drop a little food on our shirts while eating. I just recently heard on the radio how to get grease out of your shirts so easliy. Things like butter, mayonnaise, salad dressing, french fry grease...anything !
All you do is rub some baby powder onto the grease spot on the shirt, and let it sit there overnight BEFORE you wash the shirt in the laundry. The powder absorbs it all out, and it's completely gone then when you wash it. I do this every time now. Works perfect every time.

you're welcome ! And thanks...40 actually still feels the same as 25.
I love lobster and crab legs, and of course that hot butter drips on my shirt every time. But now....no worries thanks to baby powder.

I don't think so omair...

it only works if you have not already laundered the shirt. But if you are out eating at a restaurant, you don't have to rush home to do this. Just put the baby powder on it whenever you get home.

one time my sister spat a noodle at me
and it was covered in melted butter
and it was funny but it ruined my shirt.

Good thing it was just a semi-crappy shirt.

I'll do that next time. Or maybe not lie on my back with my plate on my tummy-basket.

It sometimes works after you've washed the shirt, too! you just have to use a lot of powder and kind've rub it in.

my mom taught me that trick a long long time ago. It's most excellent.

Hmmm.....I may have to try it on shirts that I thought were ruined and have the grease stain from long ago. Thanks ofthecoast

oh wow!

that's an awesome trick! I've got a sister and friend who ALWAYS spill food on themselves when they eat. They'll be glad to know about this!

Does it work for things like... spaghetti sauce? hehe

janell6267 on Jun 04 '07 at 10:18am
thanks...I am off work today for a really long Birthday weekend.

I will test this trick out on some shirts that I ruined long ago, and see if it still works on old stains or not, because I did not think it would. I will let you all know.

janell6267 on Jun 04 '07 at 10:19am
the powder will remove the grease portion of the spaghetti sauce, but not likely the red color. For stains like that I try to remove the shirt immediately and start scrubbing.

I don't think you know it, but your "need to earn money fast" blog, was the first blog I ever commented on! That was almost a year ago exactly. :]

Also, thanks for the great tip. I have a toddler running around, so this will definitely come in handy.

Happy Birthday!
