Enjoy!  The Design Not Illustration is a challenge to design something for a t-shirt that is interesting visually that has no illustration to it at all. It should be made up of Color, Form, Shape, Line and/or Pattern. It's about Abstract Art that doesn't rely on a real or cartoon visual. Threadies is hosting an info page and will be showcasing the contest submissions. If you would like to enter the contest and haven't signed up yet then please do so here or comment below. We ask that, in addition to submitting your designs to Threadless that you also, send all DNI submissions to submissions@threadies.org. It is not required for the contest but will ensure that your design is posted in the Design Not Illustration contest area on Threadies.org.  Be sure to include the Design Not Illustration logo on your submission so that we know which submissions belong in the contest. Only 2 submissions per person. What is 2D?: Designs must not have any perspective, shadowing or Z coordinate. Basically, no design elements can look closer or further back from one another. I've included some examples below, and if you have any questions about what's 2D and what's 3D please ask them here. That said - this contest, though designed to challenge us, is also meant to be fun. Use this contest as an opportunity to try new things and design something different. Other Rules: Any 'questionable' submissions (ones that may not be entirely 2D) will be reviewed by Staffell, Bramish and Threadies and may be declined. An email will be sent explaining why it was declined and you are free to resubmit. Only one submission allowed per person. Dates: The contest will officially launch June 1st, when we'll release a Threadies page with all the rules, prizes, contestants , etc. That is also when we will start accepting submissions. The submission deadline of July 1st, so it's best to start on your designs now. Designs MUST be submitted to Threadless and emailed to submissions@threadies.org. You can submit your design to Threadies at any time but wait until the last week of June to submit your design to Threadless, and no later than July1st.
