...or is it just me?

I'm not liking the recent designs as much lately. The really really old ones are probably the sweetest, like Consumable. What's up with that? It would be cool if they held out to make only the best designs, this 18 tees in 3 days thing is a little overboard if you ask me. And you're reading my blog, so that's sort of like asking me.

Does anyone agree, though, that recent designs aren't as good as those past?

We are working currently on reclaiming Threadless for the designers. It's a long process with many failures, but things will get better.

No. Shirts apeel to everyone differently. Wait a week, two, or possibly three and you'll be happy. Otherwise, just go here.

Anthropomorphized food always beats out good design here, sadly.

everybody seems to post this same question within a few months of joining here. i don't think designs ever get any worse. i think people just slowly become less impressed by them after a voting for a couple of thousand and then miss the feeling of excitement they had when they first got here.

I tend to like designs more in retrospect than I do when they come out. GIANTS TALK LIKE THIS really grew on me, as did Psychedelephant.

Since registering, I've bought...I dunno, between eight and ten shirts. I don't think I bought any more shirts (on average) when I registered than I do now. I probably like-enough-to-buy about one shirt a month. Sometimes I get it, and sometimes I don't.

I think when you first register, you're really enamored with the site. As time goes by and you see things (food with faces, pop culture puns, road maps, hippie ecology designs) a few times, the novelty wears off and you're left thinking "Man...this site used to be cool."

There are a ton of designs being printed right now that I would have bought a year ago. They don't appeal to me as much now because in some cases, I did buy them a year ago. It's not that the designs right now are worse, really. My tastes have changed.

Anyway, I'll hush now.

I like Myopia Utopia, Stop destroying our planet. It's where I keep my stuff, and Adultery is just amazing.

I guess thats not that many.

And I'm not sure how "designed" the first two are.

Yeah...I know exactly what you mean.

I've been really disappointed in most of the designs released. I really like some of the older ones. It's mostly the reprints that I'm going to spend my money on though.

Have t-shirt designs gotten worse, or your taste in t-shirt designs gotten worse? That is the question.

I think the whole point of threadless is that even if you don't like EVERY FUCKING design that comes out, it is okay, because there will be one you love eventually. The magic of threadless. I agree most shirts I wouldn't buy, but somebody else loves it and will buy it. Just cuz you don't like doesn't mean that threadless sucks. Maybe you do.

And I can't afford to love every shirt, damn it. So get over it, because next Monday you'll have plenty more to bitch about.
