about Empire
It's just the empire building on a shirt!

What's up with that? Kinda boring if you ask me.

aaaaand it only scored a 2.46 - my sub 'what's on the menu?' scored a 2.53!

so where's *my* cheque for $2000?

scores are only used to help threadless make their decisions.

"The scoring system helps give us a general idea of which designs our customers want."

you don't get one because they didn't chose you. just because your sub scored 0.07 higher than it dosn't mean you have a good chance of being printed..

theres a huge fuckload of tshirts that scored better than both, the scoring system doesn't mean all that much at the end of the day.

yeah i know all that. (was semi joking bout the wheres my cheque?)

but it just surprises me when there are some more interesting shirts out there.

im not saying mine is the most interesting out there - im only new to this tshirt game.

does anyone else think its a bit bland?

the artwork is pretty good and simplistic but i just dont get why to put just that concept on a shirt.

no don't get me wrong, i half agree with you, there are plently of other shirts that are probably better as well as being a bit less bland. i just think it's a nice change to have shirts like this (although i don't really like it). anyway, they have to try and have a varied selection :)

hello fellow brisbanite,

do not shed tears for shirts unprinted. also, remember threadless is in the states. think of the patriots. pretend it's the harbour bridge and watch people shake their fists of fury over your outlandish "it's just the" statement.

i agree that it's not the greatest of shirts but there are good print weeks on here and there are bad print weeks. most shirts sell anyway.

I kind of like it, but not as a shirt. When I first saw it in the thumbnail I thought it was the Empire State Building being painted over with black paint...the negative space buildings looked like paint strokes.

You know, I would love it as a poster.

I don't really like this tshirt at all, but I do support stuff like this getting printed - because I am sick of the same old shit over and over again.

Stuff like this whilst it may not be as popular is a nice change of pace.

It is hard to see why some things get printed over others. I think it depends on how many "I'd buy it" the design gets, as well as overall score. It is odd though how some really high scorers never get printed. I guess the staff just don't think they will sell, or they don't want to see them on threadless shirts.

Yeah... I really need someone to explain to me why that one was printed. I mean, I don't see a huge difference between this shirt and ones I saw for sale at the Empire State Building gift shop when I was there. It's not a BAD design, it's just that I don't find it interesting in the least.

oh i agree bananaphone

maybe because when we see stuff like this (ie different) it's unfavoured because we're so used to the same style. :S

like i said, the artwork and detail is pretty good on the shirt. cred to the artist for that.

About Me

What to say that is actually important?

18.5 year old living in Brisbane in the maddest country in the world - Australia. Where summers are long and the beaches plentiful :P

Ready to enter the real world in design. Not quite sure what to expect but all for the better I suppose.

I spend way too much money on threadless. It's like smoking cept I'm not killing myself - (I just can't bear to quit cold turkey!).
