The inaugural volume of Comics-On Tees was released in 2010 at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). It was an amazing experience - my first time at SDCC and I was in heaven. I had a free day after the release party and spent it going to panels and listening to my heroes in the comic industry talk about what they do. Did I mention, I. LOVE. COMICS.

One panel I was super excited to check out was DC’s Vertigo panel. I had just started getting more into the comic “I, Zombie” by Chris Roberson and “American Vampire” by Scott Snyder, who were both on the panel.

Scott Snyder was the first to walk out for the panel and was wearing the Comics-On Tees Volume 1 shirt by Cliff Chiang. He came to our party the night before and picked up the entire set of four t-shirts in the first volume of Comics-On Tees. Chris Roberson walked out wearing “We Got Some Work To Do Now” by Travis Pitts and I was stoked knowing I had an excuse to introduce myself to someone who was quickly becoming one of my favorite writers.

Chris Roberson said something that became the standard phrase from all these talented comic folk, “Threadless is half my wardrobe. I love Threadless.”

I was amazed by the respect and admiration the artists and creators in the comic industry had for our designers as well as our entire community. It made the pride and love I have for Threadless grow even more, and I hope this series has been as much fun for you as it has for me.

And as they say in comics... more to come.

I have the Vol. 3 set because I love robots and comics, and I wear them everywhere. I was in St. Louis on business, and everyday after work I would shed my suit and tie, throw on one of the tees and hit the casino. I got compliments left and right.
