I wouldn't consider the midwest to be "square states." I'm from Michigan, which is definitely a mitten. But I want this.

it turns out that you are a really goofy midwest wannabe sort of person.



the midwest is the region bounded by buffalo/pittsburg to the east, the ohio river to the south (extended a little bit there at the end), the canadian border to the north, and the western border of minnesota and iowa to the west. st louis may or may not be in the midwest (probably not: missouri's confusion during the civil war leaves it forever problematic). Ontario would be midwestern if those canadians weren't so sensitive that way.



you people who live in the corn belt (north dakota down to oklahoma) wanna be midwesterners, but you are not, you never have been, and it's pathetic you want to be. you are farmers with little lame towns you call cities punctuating your states. whereas the midwest is home to huge honking cities: buffolo, pittsburg, cleveland, columbus, cincinnati, detroit, indianapolis, chicago, milwaukee, minneapolis. you corn belt folks got nothing like that.



heck, your state doesn't even have a college that can compete in any sport in the national way. weeners. non-midwesterners!

iowa doesn't have any pro sports

not that i care a whole lot about it, i like the packers for football, cubs for baseball. but i dont watch much sports.



either way iowa sucks

iowa has the hawkeyes, which are at least in a good league. and they have the university of iowa, which has an interesting writers school. and they have half of the quad cities.



at least north dakota competes in collegiate hockey.



compared to that, south dakota has nothing.



iowa is the little brother that the midwest lets come along to play with the big kids. south dakota is the neighbor kid with the drippy zits who nobody wants to play with, but who still wants to be part of the gang. howsoever bad you have it there in iowa, be glad you're not living in south dakota.

also iowa has one of the largest TM centers/neighborhoods in the world. there, people have great health, reduced crime and an above average school system.

last time I checked, Sioux Falls is in the Southeast corner of South Dakota. that's pretty damn close to "midwest"
