I need images of explosions. Good ones, with lots of contrast preferably. Do you have any? Possibly stock photography?
I am not planning to use the images themselves, but as reference for some illustrations. I'm just having a hard time finding some good ones through google and other image searches.
What ever happened to the Beck loves competion? I was really looking forward to that.
Following my recent design "Ambition takes flight", I would like to open a topic of discussion on originality. It is true that I did not draw these images and that this is a layout composed of three copyright free images. The composition, colors, and patterns are all created by me.
The question is, if no one else thought to use is this type of imagery (hand drawn or not), colors, layout, patterns, etc. in such a way, then isn't it original. I feel that this is no less creative then if I had drawn it all by hand. I had the concept first and sought out my images. I'm not trying to start a fight or say that I am in the right with my design or change anyone's thinking. I just want to hear what people have to say about this.
how can i post and image of a design to my profile without starting a blog. i would like people to be able to see my next design in greater detail the 640x480 allows. i am terrible when it come to web stuff. thanks for the help.
i have just decided that my newest pet peev is.....
when people post a sub and the layout of the graphic in the box is different from the layout of the graphic on the shirt. i dont know how many times i have seen a decent graphic in a great lower left or lower right corner position in the box and then the creator screws it up by placing it in the dead upper middle of the shirt. composition is just as important as concept! if your graphic has a shadow under it or is at a three quater angle or it has sort of a top view a lower position looks best. if none of these apply then shoot for the certer. but, note, that as long as there has been tshirts there has been the upper middle placement. i encourage you, the designer, to venture out and try a new placement. now, go, and be just a little more creative, please.
Thank you for checking out some of my past work.
I would like to tell you a bit about myself and I will do so in order of relevance to this site and audience. I am a freelance graphic designer, currently working in production in a large multi-nation box company. It has been great experience and I highly recommend production as a first job for any designer. I have been designing tees for 6 years and have had the opportunity to print several of them myself. I love screen printing on all media. I am also a husband and a father, both of which I love being. Being a dad is so great. Madeline is my first daughter and she will have a sister come Valentines day. My wife is an amazing person and my hero. She has never let me down and has always been there for me. And last but definitely not least, I follow Christ. He too has never let me down and has brought me from a life of regrets. With his help I am seeking to change the face of “Christian design” and art for that matter. I want both to break out of the mold and encourage artist and designer to rise up out of the shadow of the typical. So this is me in reverse order of importance, but forward order of relevance. Have a nice day and thanks for stopping by. |
