It's been a rough couple of days. Brittany is 25 weeks pregnant and had some painful cramps yesterday. The doctor advised us to go to the hospital. What we thought was a kidney/bladder infection turned into an actual case of her body going into pre-term pregnancy.
Right now, she is stable and we think the doctors have everything under control. Unfortunately, Brittany is going to be in the hospital for three weeks on bed rest. After that, hopefully she can go home for the remaining pregnancy and be on bed rest. If you are the praying type, if we can get to 28 weeks, the baby will clear a lot of health issues. If she can make it to 32 weeks, there should be no complications and everything should be developed enough for a healthy birth. So we covet your prayers. Thanks for allowing me to share, I appreciate those of you who have become friends. - Tim New Year update. Well, there is good news and bad news. The good news is that the baby is looking good growing inside the womb. She is on a good path and the doctors arent seeing any issues. The bad news is that the wife's body is still moving towards and early labor. The doctors are almost certain that we will have a premature birth. We are at 28 weeks now, which is a very good week. Our current goal is 32 weeks, the doctors say that there is a very good chance if we make it that far that the baby will be born fine and have no issues and very litte chance that she will need any assistance to breathe, etc. Brittany will be in the hospital for atleast another month, and if she hasnt delivered then, will probably end up in there a second month. For a total of three months. It's hard on her, but her spirits are holding up ok. It's a long road, but we are getting there. Thanks for your prayers. 2-1-10 update. We are at 32 weeks now, which is great news for the general safety of the baby. We are pass a lot of risks. So from the baby perspective all is good. Everything is not so great for my wife. There was hope that we would go home yesterday from the hospital. She would get to be on home bed rest and be able to enjoy being out of the hospital for a few weeks. Unfortunately, the doctor checked yesterday and my wife is already 5 cm dilated and could easily be 7. They have told us we will not make it full term, and that the baby will be premature. The only thing holding Kenzie in is the water sac, so as soon as that breaks, Britt will be right into labor... and it wont be a long one. So here we are still in the hosptial for 7 weeks now, we do hope to make it to 36 weeks, which is considered full term. But we wont make it to the normal 40 weeks. We know God's got a reason for all this, so we are staying close to Him. Without His strength and the support of friends and family, we dont know how we would have made it this far. Thanks everyone for your constant support. It's a big help knowing that others are thinking or praying for us. Interacting with you all while Im at work helps the days go by. Thanks for being an extended family. 2-20-10 update I just wanted to let everyone know that we had our baby. Kenzie Michelle was born 2-13-10 at 11:24 PM. 4lb 8oz 17 inches long. Sorry I didnt get this up to date earlier, but it's been a pretty crazy week. The good news is that both mom and baby are healthy. Mom finally got to come home after 9 weeks and 1 day in the hospital. It was great to just have her home. Baby is healthy, but in the hosptial. She will most likely be in there another two weeks at the least. She is breathing on her own with no problems there. She has to learn to eat and some other things before she can go home. Overall, she was born 6.5 weeks early. It was a long journey, but one well worth it once she came into the world. Thanks guys for all your encouraging support.
