Is Zulia like zombie Julia?
eskimokiss
   eskimokiss on Nov 16 '09 at 9:03am
yeah, go for elegant names like eva.

i'd also avoid being creative with the way you spell established names.

Down here in Aus, that's what bogan* parents do.

I think Eva and Julia are the nicest ones from your list. And I also know a girl named Marley, and I think it's really cool without being trendy or annoying.

I tend to like more traditional names, like Eleanor or Claire or Maryanne, with classic spelling.

I like Eva and Julia too, although a lot depends on your surname. My name is Abigail and I like it, if that helps! :)

Oh, I like Leah and Madeline too. Aled's sister is called Nia (pronounced nee-a) I think it's beautiful and simple. And it's Welsh.

lol yeah, I wouldn't want to date girls with those names in case they ruin them forever. A few have already been ruined for me. Emma, for instance.

Please don't intentionally misspell your child's name. My name is a universally accepted variant spelling, and most of the time, people still don't bother to ask or check (teachers and classmates constantly spelled it wrong throughout school). It's very frustrating. Kamryn would have her name spelled (and possibly pronounced) incorrectly for the rest of her life.

I'd also steer away from Jaidyn. I work with kids, and it seems like every day I meet a new Aiden/Breden/Jaden/Kaydyn. They're all spelled differently, and they all rhyme.

I love the letter L. It is probably my favourite letter. All my favourite girl names have Ls except for Marie. It's a good soft feminine sort of sound.

That's awesome news Tim! Before we found out we were having a boy, my wife and I narrowed potential girl names down to Nora, Ella and Olivia.

I like all of lbb's choices - my cousin's little girl is called Ella, it's a good name. I like Olivia, but there seem to be a lot of children named that in the UK now.

I kinda think Ruby is a cute name.

I met a Ruby and immediately sang the chorus of the Kaiser Chiefs' song. She wasn't impressed. But of course 22 years ago her parents weren't aware that this was a problem, meanwhile every kid was being named Rhiannon and who remembers that song now? So I guess any name you pick could end up a popular song in the future without you knowing it. And anmes that are songs now are more likely to be forgotten by the time she's grown up.
