I'm not sure about tips and stuff, but i think there is away to change the size of the pics on your 'my photos' page. I think if you change the layout you can have 6 big pics or 9 smaller and so on...

And you can apply them to a map which is pretty cool, tho i haven't tried that yet,

The cats on a fence shot is cool. I added you as a contact. Usually when you click a picture, it allows you to view it in 3 or 4 different sizes. Don't know why yours doesn't allow that. I don't know how to change the color, but go to your account to changethe frot page picture sizes.

Czar - Yeah I like the cats shot alot, I took it this weekend as I was walking my dog which made it kind of difficult as she wasn't in the mood to stop. Yeah its wierd about the picture size thing, but I'm going to keep messing with it.

your original picture has to be big for it to have multiple sizes

flickr isn't myspace, so it doesn't do the background colors. it makes it easier to focus on pictures.

I have actually mapped a bunch of my photos, it's kinda fun.

Chelly my original pictures are huge I use a sony dslr-a100 which shoots 10 mega pixels so it isn't because they are small. That and I can make them change sizes when I click on them. So I'm going to keep messing with it. Also you seem to be familiar with the site do you know if their is a way besides layout to change the standard size of the pictures?

In regard to background color I know it's not myspace, however a white background is not optimal for alot of my pictures. I would prefer a black background to replace the framing or matting which is available on other photo sites. I thought it might have a way to change the background since I couldn't find those options.

Must be something in your settings or maybe the rights for the pics that makes them available in one size. Try emailing flickr help, maybe?
ALso, feel free to comment on everyone's photos, we all check out each other's stuff. I'll try to find the blog with everyone's flickr info.

The different sizes option is on the right side of the page with the camera info, and I don't see it on your pages.

Who Can Download Your Photos

all right, for some reason most of what I wrote didn't go through to the blog. I have to do it over.

flickr has predetermined sizes for display - they mainly use small and medium. If you make the different sizes option available to public view, people can click through to see large and original size if they want.

You can only set that one way for all your photos under
Your Account
- Privacy & Permissions
- Who Can Download Your Photos

ahhh gotcha well aint that bitch. I can either let people dl the pictures and let them see larger versions but I can't do both. I guess that makes sense I guess I have to make a decision. Whether to pull down some of the ones I can't let people dl the original size for or keep it the way it is.
Also if any of you guys want the originals for any of the pictures let me know and I'll give you access there are only a few I can't because of a deal I have with a gallery here.

i just got on flickr the other day too

Yeah, you'll find a lot of photographers will put a link below the image saying 'View it on black' which'll link to an external site, usually made by one of the Flickr toys.

And totally download the Flickr uploader program. It means you can just right click on a photo on your computer and select 'Send to Flickr.' It's the best.

Ecky Yeah I'm going to have to look into all those features they sound exactly like what I want. And that uploader sounds awesome!!!
