here is a list of artists whose one and only submission was printed. it is meant to represent the one hit wonders at threadless. well, "one hit wonders" in the sense that their only submission was a hit.

I think one-hit wonders would be people who put in tons of submissions and only get one print...

sonmi, if you search by the designer's username in the subs section, you can find all their old subs.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of these subs kind of suck...

wasn't fOi a one-sub, one-print? I know she's subbed more than one design, but I think Pillow Fight was her first sub.

yeah i considered doing a list of artists with high average scored subs but very few or no prints...but that list would get out of control and would take me forever.

i hope that my "top artist of 2006" list at least allows people to become more aware of some of the up-and-coming threadless artists this year.

just looking at them, some of them are pretty old, like when threadless would just get a designer friend to do a shirt for them- and some are very new (people and print) so they may have more to come....

nah, clean up the top artist lists just in general. not to match this one or anything...i feel like the top artist lists are confusing to some people. so i must not be presenting them clearly.

well know that the blog area is wider i can space out the numbers a little..and possibly add column titles to avoid confusion. i don't know - just an idea.

allright - let's see! have you done any research as to the identity of the artists? it might be that some of them are aliases right? although they would probably in the end have the link point to themselves or something..

yeah i guess there's no real way for me to find out if maybe one of these people have actually subbed under another username before.

or maybe they were even asked by threadless to sub it so they could print it - could be true as well and also an explanation to the fact that they suddenly print that and you NEVER hear anything from that designer EVER again.

there must be some other cool lists you could do eh? Maybe something like the oldest designers with a print? or the oldest designers with at least X subs but no print? Or how about the 20 best scoring designs from say, after 2004 or something (you'd have to take them from a period with at least 1500 votes or something)...

i had a list of top 20 scores from 2004 designs once...i'll see if i have it and repost.

and i'll think of some new ideas for lists.

yeah it is kind of hard - maybe you can post a blog and have people post additions? It is a great watchlist because if the subs are of some quality and the designer is still active (first factor being subjective of course) they will probably move from that list to one of your other lists eh!

another idea: make a list of artists getting printed really fast two times in a row (like Gringz, Sonmi) or even getting printed ONLY two times but right after each other...

[after coming back from a weeks vacation i found it difficult to get back into the threadless-groove. as a result, i don't know if i'll be updating or making lists again. i thank those who have enjoyed reading my stuff. maybe someday i'll be back.]
