I'm not so much bothered that it is at the top of this list, but I am bothered very much that something like that - with all due respect for the artist - gets such a score. Really, I think that is sad.

As I said, I'm no so much concerned with that. Some other/new subs will probably bump me from that place later anyway, I'm just disappointed by what seems to be the average preference for a t-shirt design on threadless now. There have been a gazillion pandabear graphics and this one is - I think - not particularly better that the other ones. But now it seems to be hot or something. I'm just afraid that there is a real large new voting crowd of (too?) young voters for real good shirt-design to be appreciated. Of course, that is the result of threadless' success, but I think it is a shame anyway...

i hear what you're saying stinger, but do you think it's effected the type of shirts they're printing? i mean, the final decision to print is always the staff, and i don't think they've been hiring any teenages. (not sure if my point came out right)

Yeah I see what you mean. They probably won't start printing stuff like that but it is still demotivating for people who are really into designing and put a lot of work, thought and skill into their subs to see stuff like that getting such scores. (although I must say that one looks like it was worked on properly at least).

I've seen a lot of scores going down for good stuff and going up for really cliché and just plainly bad designed stuff. That's a shame, but of course we can't do anything about it.

9 day left to submit...

i know we'll likely see a stream of submissions come in before the deadline, but 142 designs so far seems a bit low. i mean, red cross got 234 in the timespan that blik has already been going. and extra tasty got 345 in a month...yes, i do know that the theme itself will yield fewer submission. i was just commenting however.

1 week left to submit...a score of 2.27 will get you into the top 20...over 50% of the subs have died early (yikes).

the numbers at the top? yeah just a little excel file. when subs finish, i just copy the info over. it's pretty painless.

here's another one for you...the average number of votes for blik subs (those surviving seven days) is 2426.

kind of wish i kept track of the "threadless death" numbers and average scores for red cross and extra tasty. would be interesting to compare the comps.
