People have been saying that I should drop the back design.

While not necessary, it certainly was fun to think up and draw. I really like old military patches from each military division. The visual heritage is awesome.

The back design was just me imagining what this penguin's military division patch would look like.

Sounds like the following elements have been deemed 'expendible':

1. the back design

2. the speech bubble

3. maybe the microphone? I'd hate to see that go. Want the evil pengy to squawk into something.

I skipped the critique section this time because the last two times it was hard to wait a week for a comment or two. I just wanted the penguin up to see what the voters would say.

More, OK, so the back design, speech bubble, is unnecessary. But the line work, detail and absolute fun/wit of this design is undeniable! It's too bad everyone dwells on what's wrong rather than what's cool, but that's how it goes sometimes. Use the crit, and re-sub in the near future, I'm into it and I'm sure that there are others that agree! Cheers!
