Discharge Printing

I did these all over prints with discharge ink last week. The design is a little crazy but you can't feel a thing. This stuff is so toxic that I couldn't feel a thing for a while either. I'm hoping Threadless does some more cool print techniques soon, there are so many possibilities with additives and processes now, I'm excited to see what they will come up with.

I think it's not bad, personally I really like discharge printing but I'm as artful as a wrinkly white T-shirt.

i wish i had a belt printer, i actually clamped a 38" x 46" screen to a table top and used a HUGE squeegee for a couple of passes

Oh sweet, I used to live in NE.

That's really rad. Looks like it took forever. Is that something you could do lots of? Or is it too hard to do in mass quanities?

it did take forever and i only did 60. if i needed to do lots more than that i'd use a belt printer.

I'm a sales rep for a company that represents manufactuers of gifts. If you were able to do a lot of those, those would sell like hot cakes in Northern Minnesota and in Up North/Outdoorsy/Resort Gift Shops.

i know what you're saying but this particular job was for a client for a one time event. i doubt they'd be down for selling the image to breezy point.

So the client owns the design?

That's too bad, I could see these being a big hit in Walker, Breezy Point, Brainerd, Nisswa, all over up north. And if you could do other designs like this that had a Minnesota flavor to them, I could see yourself having a kick ass line that I could wholesale for you :D

digipacks are like this

which can vary from cardboard to shiny cardstock

i don't think you can print on the cardboard through a place like kinkos. it's something you would screenprint or have professionally printed at a place like discmakers. you could always print on stickers and put them over cardboard; i see that done a lot too.
