Coolest thing you will see today.

Around about April, I entered some stuff to a local gallery/coffeehouse owned by a friend. It was all local comic book art. Anyhow, my other buddy, Ken, invited up his friend to the show to hawk some of his goodies.

That guy? His name is Chris. He's a local guy who has had quite a bit of success in both indie and mainstream comics. He writes for the Simpson comics, gang.

Now, way back when I was in high school, we went to a Con where he was a guest. I showed him my art, he loved it, wanted me to send him more. And I didn't. I chickened out.

And here we are, meeting again. Fate, right? And Chris still likes my stuff. He has two story ideas brewing in his head he says my style would fit perfectly.

I finally got back in touch with him the other day, and he's as excited about it all as I am! His words, "I really dig your drawing style and think that it deserves to be showcased where someone can see it big time. " Squeal with delight with me! Eee!

So, I might actually get published. Really really published. Exciting!

But, obviously, I can't. I friggin' love that image, though. Everything about the 50's all in one image. Forward thinking futuristic woman sailing through outer space and yet... what is she doing? Ironing. So she hasn't really leapt all that far into the future after all.

Much as I want to rip this image off and wear it on my chest, I'm just going to have to be inspired by it.

Not bad, I guess.

Friday night sketches. Next sub in progress. Need to so a little repositioning and resizing, I know that much.

What do you have to think of a sub when you rate it? When you see a sub, what do you say to yourself that judges your rating? Here's my system.

$5 - "HOMIGOD, that's the best thing ever, I have to have it!"
5 - "That is friggin' awesome. I wouldn't buy it, but it's awesome."
4 - "Cool."
3 - "Eh. Kinda cute."
2 - "Not too clever... and the drawing blows."
1 - "Ugh. Horrible. At least they put a little effort into it."

So I'm going to draw. Something. And scan it when I get home, in two hours. Damn commute...

When last we left our hero, he had just finished getting his colors.

Here's were we are if you're just joining us. I took out the eye color completely, lemme know what you think.



Then we got the suggestion of giving him some buddies... so this blog is pretty much going to follow their process... And here they are in sketch form.
